Question about Cobra 29 LTD CB Radio
I run it in a loader at a quarry and has worked fine for some time till one day when i turned it on, it powered up for about 3 seconds and then hasn't powered back up since. i took it to my bench and put a power supply on it and it still won't power on. i replaced D23 which is supposed to be the circut protection diode but to no avail. any suggestions what i should do in this situation? What should i look for?
Open the case and hook power inside past the power socket. They do go bad from time to time.
Also, if you never checked the SWR, and you noticed the ant ligh come one ever, you could have burned up your final. You now have a paper weight.
Oh and the protection diode is D28 not 23. It should be a big black one. Also, D8 is another protection diode. they are the only big black diodes in the radio.
