I have a guardian trek 3 that wont charge. I have replaced the batteries and the charger about 6 months ago and it was working fine. The batteries are dead and when I plug in the charger the 'charging' light doesnt even come on saying its charging. I did leave it on over night to try but it didn't charge at all.

Hi, Check the connections for tightness and use a volt/ohm meter to check for charging voltage. Anywhere between 6v and 12v. If you suspect charger, replace with same kind and Voltage output.
Also check battery(s). replace if dead. After many battery uses. They can have an internal discharge and will not work properly any more.
Good luck.
I had the EXACT same problem. Got mine from Muntz, and had to get a new car battery. I took my car to Car Trek on Bruce Street, and they fixed me up. They reprogrammed it for me, but I might have to go in and see them for a new module. It works fine, but the security light (stock GM security) stays on when used. Car Trek was awesome! Oh, also, Car Trek has "licenced technicians" unlike Future Shop.
Your generator is equipped with a battery trickle
charger that is active when your unit is set up for
automatic operation. The trickle charger is
designed to help extend the life of your battery by
maintaining the battery when the unit is
not running.
you will need to review whichcircuit bord controls this and have that board replaced or serviced some of these gen heads have this built in and it will be the rectifier in the gen it self it will be a black 1x1x3/8 inch with a mounting hole in the center and 4 lug post for the wires replace this and your issue should be solved but consult your dealer for witch unit you have as to a control board external or the built in rectifier hope this helps.
Phone not charging. Hello, when a phone does not charge, it means that the phone charger or the port at which the charger is inserted in the phone is faulty.
Might be due to dust or dirt. You can Clean charging port on the phone with a brush and alcohol to remove dirt.
After cleaning it,if still not charging, you can test charger with another phone to be sure if the charger is working. And if charger works with another phone, that means the charging port on the phone is faulty and will need to replaced.
Yes your batteries have dropped below 9 vlt each and they wont chage using your charger. Yuo must take a car battery charger and charge each battery up to at least 11vlts for your charger to charge! This ought to work if batteries have only been sitting a couple of mths . When using a car charger set charge at 6-10 amps for about 45mins to 1hr then hook up chair charger and you should be ok
Battery charger should be putting out between 12.5 to 14.5 VDC...Battery blowing up is typical in that generator because it is on a constant trickle charge and the battery will go dry faster than normal. Make sure you check battery level every 6 months and replace every 2 years.
I think that is the problem as well. Temporarily, you could just buy a tricke charger from the parts house and hook that up until your other one is changed. Rick
