I have sound but no pic it just a scrambled

It sounds like either the controller is bad or the color wheel or scanning sync encoder is dirty or defective. One thing to try is to reset the controller program by unplugging the TV, wait two minutes, then power it ON. The micro-controller will reload it's program from flash memory (which takes several minutes). When the lights are all OFF, turn the set ON and see if the picture is correct. If you select the menu and the picture of the menu is stable, then the problem may be in the signal coming into the TV. Regards.

Mitsubishi WD-73727 will turn on, light is green, but no picture whatsoever. Nothing. I have tried the reset, and same thing.

try this push menu and input for 5 seconds. this wll cause the lights ussally a number of times pause then flash another for example flash 1 time pause then twice this is a 12 code... which by the way means no errors been recorded this will help me determine what area to troubleshoot

TV screen goes blank but power stays on

Sounds like the CRTs are going into protective blanking due to the vertical output ic needing to be resolderd. Try resoldering the vertical IC that may possibly fix the issue.

Mitsubishi WD-73732 TV

It could be a bad lamp but I've run into many of these TVs with bad color wheel assemblies. Also, if you are getting a dialog box coming up with these words," airflow blocked, TV will shutdown ..." that's a defective thermal fuse.

This is a job for a mitsubishi authorized service center. A tech can disassemble the light engine and confirm that the wheel is the problem. If you're still in warranty, great. If you're only recently out of warranty, call mitsubishi for assistance. Remember that persistance pays off when dealing with large corporations. You very seldom get what you're looking for on the first call or from the first person you speak to.
