I know that it all the time, it seems there are new recommended anti-malware programs.
Use this! Use That!
The one I'm about to recommend is an extremely good anti-malware program, that will get rid of what a lot of the others won't touch.
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. My niece has a computer that became 'infected' with MS Antivirus 2009. This junk is a malware program, that leads unsupecting computer users, into thinking it's a Microsoft anti-virus product.
It goes by Many names. You can almost just wait a week, and it will have a new name. I invite you to go to Wikipedia.org, and type in MS Antivirus. See what Wikipedia has for info.
At first I was just going to format her harddrive, and be done with it. Just quit fooling around. Problem was is that she would lose many saved personal documents, dowmloaded programs and applications.
I typed Antivirus 2009 in my browser search bar, andf the search hits led me to Wikipedia, and the above article, I just referred you to. I saw Malwarebytes listed, and gave it a try.
I used the free version, and it wiped Antivirus 2009 right off of the computer.
Before I used it, I couldn't get access to any Administrative tasks. No Control panel access, no Windows Explorer access, no nothing!
Malwarebytes has a paid version and a free version. The paid version is supposed to operate in Real Time. This means as soon as you turn your computer on, Malwarebytes is running.
I don't know.
I don't advertise ANYTHING, for ANYBODY at any time. I just recommend the free stuff, and the stuff that actually works!
You can go to Wikipedia.org, and type Malwarebytes in their search bar, to obtain more info.
This link, is to the download page of the free version of Malwarebytes, http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html
