Warm water out when cold only button pressed. need part # for water solenoid

I have a maytag atlantis washer mav7600aww. When I press the button for cold water only I get warm water. I know that the problem is more than likely the water supply solenoid but I can't find a part number for it anywhere. Any help available is appreciated. Thanks. Bob

Maytag Atlantis Washer - no cold water

Check the solenoid valves. If it's connected to hard water, the minerals build up inside and won't let the internal plunger move.

it sounds like there is something stuck in the water pump you will need to lay the water outlet on the floor into a shallow vessal to empty it then that the back off locate the water pump and see if you can rotate the cooling propeller if not take the motor housing apart to remove the debris that's preventing it from turning if the motor has not burnt out eric

the machine control opens both hot and cold water valves and then the machine sensor monitors this through a water temp sensor in the fill line till a certain amount of resistance is encountered so it could be a faulty sensor, machine control board or also if a certain type of wash is selected it wont use any cold water at all during the whole wash cycle

Cold water cycle has warm water no cold water allowed. sounds like some kind of valve is not stopping the hot water from coming in

Make sure that the inlet hoses are connected to the correct inlet solenoid valve (located just inside the cabinet). If the hot water solenoid was passing water when not wanted, the washer would eventually overflow on to the floor. There may be a problem with the solenoid control circuits which may require professional help to diagnose.

Cold water fill

You need to open the back and follow the cold water hose to the solenoid. Tap the solenoid a few times wile you are trying to use cold wated. If not check for power at the 2 wires that go to this solenoid, if you gout power then you need to replace your cold water solenoid. I hope this helps. Don't forget to rate my answer, thanks.

My Atlantis Oversize Capacity Washer is the problem. When I select a Warm/Cold wash the water starts out warm, then kicks into hot water. So then I have to hit the Warm/Cold button over and over as it fill...

The temp is controlled by a thermistor to make sure the warm water is warm. If the incoming cold is too cold, or the incoming hot is not hot enough, it will compensate by turning off the cold until the temp comes up, then it should turn the cold back on. Make sure the hot supply is to the hot water valve. If the hoses are backwards it won't work right either. Or you may have a bad solenoid in the water valve. It's possible for a water valve to work when it's cold, but as electricity runs through it, the solenoid heats up and causes it to open electrically which will close it mechanically and turn the water off. Usually if this is the case it won't open again for at least 10 minutes until the solenoid cools down enough.
