Music stops suddenly when listening with headphones

When i am listening to my ipod (ipod touch 8g) with headphones and put the ipod in my pocket the music suddenly stops. I have tried different headphones and it still does it. I bought a thing for my car so I could listen to the ipod in the car. When I plugged it into the headphone jack sound only comes out of one side of the car. If you wiggle the cord where it connects the sound goes from side to side then both sides and is all crackly and then far away. Is it the accessories that are messed up or not conpatible of is it the ipod itself?

ok i figured out what the problem was. My ipod was new and i was afraid of breaking it. when i would plug the headphones (the ones that came with the ipod touch) in they wouldn't go any farther and the jack seemed to be moving inside the ipod. So i stopped pushing. I bought some $10 sony headphones when my husband put them in it made this snap sound. Now any headphones will plug in and the jack doesn't seem to move on the inside like before.

So I guess either it was messed up and not allowing me to plug headphones in all the way or it was just operator error. lol

are the headphones ipod touch compatible... on the touch and iphone Apple changed the jack a bit from previous models and certain headphones and jacks don't seat properly... are you using the headphones that came with your touch? or aftermarket ones... Let me know ...

My Ipod Touch Will only play music out of one headphone. I have checked with multiple headphones and still same result.

Check multiple files to make sure it's not the song you are playing. But most likeley the headphone jack itself is worn or bent from having pressure applied from having it in a pocket or the like while listening to it. You can try to apply pressure (not alot) to the jack going around it in a slow circular motion to see if it can make contact. Otherwise you are going to either have to send it to apple to have them replace it, or you may find a repair service online to replace the approx $15 part for the headphojne jack itself.

Hello: I have had my ipod touch for a long time now no problem until now.....i have ipod touch 3G 32gb and whenever i listen to music....and i put my headphones in the jack. If i move the ipod itself like...

smoething like that happened to me. do you wrap your headphones around the Ipod when you're not using it? The connections inside the headset can break if you do that, and if its not the headset, then it is likely that something in the general vincinity of the headphone jack is loose.

Music Stopping

Make sure that the music is i the right format. You can convert it in iTunes to a better format that the iPod TOUCH can understand easier. It is happening because of bad coding in the format.

My iPod stopped playing through speakers- but only at work...

Esmurfette

First things First!
1) check on other speakers to see if your iPod work fine
2) check connector for loosing electric connectivity.
3) check with your headphones to see if your iPod play music well.
4) Check, power on the computer spk. you got. or the input that is working right.
Good Luck
