Check all the wiring connections on the speaker. Check the plug in points for the cables are not loose in the body of the speaker or the connector plugs themselves are not loose in the actual plug sockets.
Next you will need to get inside the speaker body to check the connections and soldered joints. Take a good look at the back of the cable plug sockets and to the back of the actual speaker cone connections. Check each wire at Both ends for damage. No sound at all suggests the issue might be at the 'Input' where the cable plugs into the back of the speaker body.

Running a 1/4" cable has no bearing unless you are trying to run a hundred yards of cable. Check your plugs wiring and connections to the unit. Here is the manual.

Behringer recommends using a shielded CAT 5e cable with Ethercon connectors wired to the T568B standard to connect the two. Also you need to make sure that the board is completely powered on before turning on the S32 for proper connection. Make sure you are connecting between the Aes50A ports. When connected you should be able to see a green light next to Aes50A in the main screen. Then you will need to properly route the channels.

Unfortunately there is no audio input on most laptops so you need another solution. You can use a simpler RCA to USB input like a Behringer U-Control USB Audio Interface (UCA222) but this will require you to make of buy a couple of 1/4" to RCA cables, watch the level though.
If you are looking for something more pro then I would suggest something like a BehringerU-PHORIA UMC204HD which has XLR inputs and is better suited for your mixer.
There are other companies that make audio to USB interfaces, M-Audio, Focusrite etc, but they are not cheap

I can't give you a definite answer but I suspect the Peavey speakers with their four wires require a different sort of amplifier.to the conventional type.

You will be aware in lots of speaker enclosures are one or two drive units and a tweeter. Ensuring the right frequency of signal goes to the right speaker will be a filter or crossover which is also housed in the enclosure. This has been the common way to deliver a good sound forever.

There has been a fashion for delivering a good sound differently by placing the filter network or crossover in the pre-amp stages and then delivering the different frequency signals to two, three or more power amplifiers, each one designed to amplify a particular frequency range and in this way fewer compromises are made to the purity of the resulting sound. Each amplifier would have an output through a pair of wires destined for the drive unit is was designed for.

Two and three rack amplifiers have been a very popular way of delivering sound in cinemas, in particular a powerful bass. I haven't personally been involved with such an amplifier but I remember the magazine Wireless World publishing a series of articles about the system and the instructions for building one.

These are just my thoughts on the matter and your next step would be to examine the internal wiring of your speakers to be sure.

There are a variety of ways to accomplish this, but the two most common ways are:

1. Purchase a BEHRINGER USB interface -- like a U-CONTROL UCA222. This will allow you to use the USB port for your sound In/Out. This will also require RCA cables to connect from mixer to UCA222 unit.
2. Or...purchase a dedicated sound card (preferred) like an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 that can be installed in your computer (not for laptop). You will also need I/O RCA cables to connect.

Eurolive Active speakers from Behringer suffers of bad power supply/Amp design, if you open up the back of your speaker you will probably find that the AC connector has a burnt or loose connection as well as a black spot, if not, check the power supply/power amp coils for cracked connections, let me know for improve help.

You can use the compressor in two ways. 1st you can go inline from the main outputs into the compressor out of the compressor to the rest of the world using normal cables. You can do the effect via the "POWER AMP INSERT" jacks.

Use TRS interconnects to yout effects unit.

If the effects unit does not have TRS type bi-directional in/out ports, you MAY need to make special cables to connect the units. Refer to figure 4.5 on page 9 of your PMP5000 user manual for INSERT connections.
