PENTAX Optio 60

The pictures are washed out with horizontal lines running across them.

The images started with their problems by simply being extremely overexposed in all levels of light (inside/outside, natural/flash) and quickly escalated to having horizontal stratifications on all image captures.

A horrible thing to not be able to fix on Christmas morning!

My Pentax is about three years old and randomly decided to have horizontal stripes going across the whole screen when I take a picture. The color is also very bright however the video works perfectly fine. I bout it in the US but i'm currently studying abroad in Austria and I need to get the problem resolved quickly but I have no idea of how. Should I just buy a new one?

I have had my pentax for 3 years and it has just started to play up. The exposure of the photographs is way to bright. I have attempted adjusting the settings in manual mode and it still seems to over expose. In the display panel the images come out over exposed with horizontal lines running through it.

hi , my camera has the same problems , when I take a picture is to white and it apears some horizontal ligns , I went to a pentax service and they told me that posibly the lentils are defected and it cost me 100 euro , much as a new camera . I don't know what tot think , but now I buyed at a much lower price a camera and it's great. This kind of things are good to use only for some 2-3 years then they are defected. Now I will not regret because didn't cost me 300 euro , only 100 .

I am very disapointed from pentax , a lot of money , but litter quality.

If properly captured pictures can be played back fine ( quality is ok ) but images look 'noisy' i.e. color and resolution not what it should be then your camera has a faulty CCD sensor. Ask Pentax if they do this model with this problem free of charge ( most manufacturers repair CCD problems free of charge ).

Pentax optio m10 take picture and it come out with horizontal lines across the lcd screen and when i down load them the photos are the same as the image on the screen, seems a littlr clearer out of...

OK, this sounds to me like an CCD error. This is unfortunately once of the more expensive components on a camera to be repaired.

I would suggest that you take this camera to your nearest repair store, explain to them what the problem is, and let them let you know how much it will cost to replace the CCD.

Hope this cam be of help.

Kind regards

I have wo black bands across the screen on my Pentax Option 550

have you tried changing the camera's settings back to default? in the camera's menu, find 'reset settings' or 'factory settings' or something like that to reset the camera settings.. you might have messed with some settings, otherwise it may be hardware failure, may be the LCD of your camera.. hope not so.. lol
