Use sandpaper or brillo pad to remove rust, and paint it with acrylic appliance paint

Where can I buy new loading baskets for my DWI 160 dishwasher?

These come as several parts. Not sure if all are available anymore as Candy parts. But you can get replacement Hoover parts to fit.

Main basket from Candy
Candy DWI 160W UK Dishwasher Basket

Cutlery basket from Candy
Candy DWI 160W UK Universal Cutlery Basket

The Upper and Lower baskets may not be available from Candy but Hoover replacements are
Candy Use HVR41022779 Lower Basket

Best to ask Candy support to provide pictures of the parts for comparison with your model or purchase or a refund policy if not suitable.

There is another site worth checking (but prices seem high)

Dishwasher model number 665 is discharging water at the bottom on the door during the wash cycle. Dishwasher is 10 years old but not heavily used. Lower basket is also showing signs of rust on tips of...

it may only be a problem with the float valve located in the bottom of the dishwasher. There is a relay switch attached to it on the outside(under the machine) that can get worn out and simply replacing the switch can help. The problem is that if this switch is not functioning properly, the water keeps filling in the cycle and it overflows out the door. Good luck!

My dishwasher lower basket has some rust. Is there paint or other solutions short of buying a new basket? Kitchenaid / kudm24sewh2

the paint dose not work well, If the wire is not in a super critical place, I sometimes cut them out and cap them with a rubber coated dishwasher repair kit that I purchase at my local appliance repair shop. You can probably order that on line, I found them here.. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-number/675679/0022/665?sid=SPDx20101116xGPROD

Leaking from the bottom of the disposal in the connection area.

Disposals rust out and need replacement.

Check a couple things first.
Run paper towel around top of disposal to see if moisture is leaking from around sink basket or dishwasher hose connection. Then check where tailpiece connects on side of disposal.
If these places are dry, the disposal has probably rusted out.

I wrote instructions for disposal replacement:

When I worked apartment maintenance, we replaced disposal with same brand disposal.
That way we didn't have to change out sink basket or change pipes.
How to change disposal: Disconnect p-trap and tailpiece going into disposal.
Rotate connector disk clockwise that holds disposal to sink basket.
Before installing new disposal.
Attach electric wire to new disposal.
Attach dishwasher tube to new disposal. Knock out plug inside dishwasher opening.
Push new disposal up into place, and attach to old sink basket with new connector disk.
Use new connector washer.
Re-assemble tubular pipe.

If this is your home, you want new sink basket that comes with new disposal because it looks shiny and new.
Buy a tub of plumbers putty also.
Remove old sink basket and clean opening.
Put finger-size roll of plumbers putty around sink opening, and then push new strainer basket into plumbers putty.
Tighten basket from below, wipe away excess putty around sink opening.
Install new disposal as described above.

Tips for tubular pipes:
When taking apart tubular pipes, start at p-trap and take apart as few pieces as needed to do job.
On image below loosen both upper and lower nuts, trap falls loose, and then work on disposal.
Any tubular drain pipe that gets moved while working under sink needs to be disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled.
Metal pipes have rubber washer >> always use new rubber washers.
Plastic pipes have plastic washers > plastic washers can be cleaned and re-used.
Plastic washers have flat side that goes toward nut, tapered side away from nut.

When reassembling tubular pipe, we use rectorseal on washers and joints.
Apply good amount on washer just before pushing washer in place and attaching nut.
Apply rectorseal where lower p-trap comes together.
Rectorseal will ensure tubular drain pipes won't leak.

There are some worn, rusty spots on the lower basket of our Magtag. These are small spots where the plates rest against the tines. Are there any products to repair the plastic finish?

You can buy tine caps and repair goop at an appliance repair shop, however once rust has penetrated it is generally hard to stop

Both of the baskets are rusting and even several of the rungs have completely rusted off. This dishwasher was installed in 2003, 6 years old. Has anyone else had the same type of problem with this model?...

The problem is most likely due to minerals or other impurities in your water. The nylon coating covering the metal dish baskets erodes quickly from contact with this water. It is also exacerbated by the wayers high temperatures.

remove the small basket from each drawer and lift up the removable plastic cover and take the drain filters out , empty them of food by products and try it again.. If you've never cleaned them then that's your problem with the drain process.. Hope that helps.

Stainless steel is rusty/blotchy

Jenn Air makes great products, don't blame them. Your type of stainless steel is a consumer grade that has less nickel-chromium in the mix making it affordable to the consumer. The surface needs to be "pacified", DeBruce Polish will REMOVE THE RUST and PACIFY the surface. We get Debruce Polish at debrucepolish.com.

Rusty dish rack

Clearly a design or manufacturing flaw. I have the same model and the rack is disintegrating after 6 years. I believe it is a manufacturing flaw. Our previous dishwasher rack lasted over 20 years in the same conditions. Same construction, vinyl covered steel. New upper and lower racks cost over 200.00 and there is no guarantee that this won't happen every six years. I recommend a new non-Maytag dishwasher as soon as you can. Meanwhile, limp along with the defective racks.
