Question about Actiontec GT704WG Wireless Router (gs583ad3-01)
I have a home desktop (dell) and a second desktop (gateway). I have the wireless router and i want to set up a network. The dell is wired into the router via network cable and the gateway is accessing the routers internet through a wireless usb adapter. Thanks :)
Is there way to update this router

OK well I think it is better to set it up like this... Connect the Modem to the Phone Line, Connect the Modem to the Router with an Ethernet Cable, Use a CABLE connection from the Main PC to the Router. (Ya gonna ditch the USB WiFi) Set that Main PC connection up to connect to the internet from the Main PC, thru Router thru Modem.... Then from Slave, install the USB adapter in this PC, and use this to connect DIRECTLY to the WiFi Router... and thus to the internet. This way will give the best transfer rates, and reliability

Yes your computer based on your model number should be able to support a wireless router.
Now... you did not specify if this is or is not a second computer that is trying to access the router which is hooked up to another computer and modem. If you are trying to access it you will need a wireless nic adapter installed on the Dell. To access the router. Please comment on what the case may be in your situation.
