I cannot turn on my Gateway m-6309 notebook. When i try to press the power button all I see is blinking light on power button and wi-fi for 1 minute and then it stops. I had a familiar problem 6 month ago and was able to fix it by re-installing vista. But at this time I cannot do the same operation it just does not wont to turn on. Please help me.

No it did not worked I tried this before. I guess some of the hardware failure. Another problem is that warranty is past do. Can i extend my warranty and asked gateway tech.. to fix it? would it work?

is the light green or yellow? Try this if it is yellow. Remove the battery and unplug the power plug. hold the power button down for 15 seconds. then put the battery back and plug it in. If the lights are yellow this is an indication of the unit not getting enough power.

Have a few things for you to try. First take the battery out of the laptop and keep the power adapter connected, next press the poewr button down for about 1 minute. Then press the poewr button normally. should correct the problem. If the doesn't work then try external monitor to see if it works on another connection. If it works then your laptop has a hard ware problem causing the problem. If you have a warranty now would bea good time to call them if the steps don't work

i do believe you wouldn't be able to extend the warranty if it's past due...but you could always call gateway to see. If you don't have a warranty you will have to take it to a local computer repair shop to get it fixed. But call gateway first to see if you can extend the warranty.

My toshiba tablet wont connect to my wi-fi please help

1. Make sure that your wi-fi settings are turned on.
2. Scan for local wi-fi
3. Select your desired wi-fi and provide password if required.

Many times, the settings from the menu are not turned on, so the tablet will not try to link to a wi-fi site.

If you need more help, please provide the model number and the operating system currently being used on the tablet.

I am unable to pickup internet wirelessly with my computer.

Hi Fred!
I have checked the specification of your laptop here and found that your laptop is Wi-Fi capable and wi-fi drivers are available and can be downloaded and installed here. (if required)
Most Gateway notebooks have a designated multi-function button or function key to turn your wireless on and off. There should be a tiny slide switch or button with a small antenna symbol. There should also be a light with the same symbol to show when it is on and from the keyboard Press Fn+F2 to enable wireless.

Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.

Good Luck!
Dont forget to appreciate the solution if I could have been of any help!

Gateway laptop wireless button

Hold down Fn key and hit F2. It will be used to turn on and turn off the wireless switch.
If you have window vista, Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, Window Mobility Centre, Turn Wireless On.

Wi fi button

Look carefully on your "Function" keys example, F1, F2, F3 to F12 that are located above your keyboard. On each function keys, there is an icon. One of those is wi-fi. Find which function key has the wi-fi icon then find key to activate those functions. It is called "Fn" key (located in the bottom of your keyboard near "Ctrl" or "Alt"). Now press and hold "Fn" + "F#" then release. This should turn on your wi-fi. On mine, I have wi-fi on "F8" so I would press "Fn" + "F8".

Gatweway lap top button light up, but wont turn on

I'm afraid this sounds suspiciously like a motherboard problem. It would help to know what model etc, as some Gateway & EMachine model laptops have had extended warranties due to motherboard issues, or just go to Gateway.com and research it yourself.

After shutdown of gateway laptop blue power button stays lit.....

Hi this sounds like your computer is in hibernation mode as opposed to shut down mode. Could you check and see as if running Vista many people assume that clicking on the brown power type selection under start that they are shutting down where as this actually only hibernation mode and clicking on the little arrow to the right of this and selecting shutdown is the way to go.
I hope this helps
