Put the saw at a 90 deg. and lower the blade fully into the channel, does it bottom out, there is a blade depth adjustment that I think needs to be adjusted. Also are you using the right diameter blade on this tool. The teeth should just be below the surface of the table for the proper cut. Let me know if you see something else.

Try going to Makitatools.com and typing in your model number on the right side of the page at the top. It will take you to another page where you can download an owners manual, I saw where page 6 and 7 would be helpful. Let me know if you need more help

You can adjust the location where the blade drops into the groove in the table. Look on page 24 of this manual and you will see exactly how to adjust the table:

My blade is not square to the table i,e if I make a 90deg cut, it is about 1/16 wider at the top of the board than it is at the bottom. I've lost my owners manual and was wowndereing holw I go about...

Set your saw square using a combination square if you have one. Then to to adjust the saw to stay square there should be a gold coloured nut that you can adjust on the right side below the lever you use to unlock the saw when setting what angles you want to cut. Either move it in or out to get the proper setting. Hopefully this answers your question.

Have new hitachi chopsaw, need blade for laminate flooring

The blade that you need is carbide-tipped, many-toothed with the proper center-bore diameter. A chopsaw is usually used for cutting steel parts and not particularly precise for flooring. Good luck!

Here are two links for the parts manual and the owners manual. It is not uncommon for a tool to go slightly out of line with use due to vibration and and movement of the arbor. As for the tool not tilting, it just sounds like the worm screw and gear are off line. this is a pretty quick fix but it requires you to turn your saw upside down to access the set screws. I glanced at the diagram and it looks like the handle for the adjustment is held on by a set pin. you will also be able to access this from inside the cabinet.

User manual for adjusting your saw here.
When you set it up, make sure you check for square to the table, square to the fence, and check square for toe-in or at a 45 deg. angle across the blade from the corner where fence meets table, like you would check a radial arm saw. (hold a framing square with one leg against line of fence/table and other leg against blade and inclined 45 to both table and fence. Make sure all three are dead square.
I never found any way to compensate for the play in the blade itself. It seems like the manufacturing tolerances are a little too loose.

You may need a heavier plated blade. You may simply need a different saw. Those Dewalts are great workhorses, and I love the design, but it's my experience that when you're trying to miter hardwoods of any substantial size there's a little bit of drift in the cut as the blade comes through the wood.
You can try cutting at a slower rate.
I've found that makitas are a little more solid through the cut, though I don't like the general ergonomics as much...
Kind of a pain, isn't it?
Well, good luck.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

There should be two knobs on the saw where you adjust the miter of the saw. One of these knobs if turned clockwise tightens the swivel. I have the same saw except it is a 13 amp.
