first look around and see if it has a lock (hold ) button ..if this isnt the issue ..look in the manual cause if ti came with the lock on it had to have the default password there ..If you got it from eBay ..get back to the seller and write to it with the problem ...cause this is a strategy they use to make you confirm that you got the item and not make a refund on the not receive it reason..I personal had an issue like that with a phone I bought on line...it came locked and when I wrote to the seller they gave me the code..
To unlock it Press and Hold the Home button until an “Unlocked” Message appears. also Press and hold the home button to lock the unit, this can only be preformed when the unit is powered. good luck.
getting warm is normal I've never seen one get HOT, you can pull out the battery from these players very easey by removing 4 screws from the back of the player take it out for a minute and this should reset the player, if not you may need a new battery these are on Amazon for short money.
I think the only repair facility is sending it in to sandisk. if it is still under warrenty, it would be freem however if it is not, contact sandisk at [email protected].
Go to the Sansa website, and get the Sansa recovery tool: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.asp
Go ahead and do this, in case you have Windows Media Player 11 or the DB is corrupted:
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx
