The harddrive itself has gone bad, only solution would be to replace the HDD inside the enclosure :-( sorry.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Return or contact Maxtor. For a fee they have the equipment and processes (that are proprietary) to retrieve your data. Do not restore the HD because it will erase ALL information!

Windows -Delayed write failed. Windows was unable to save all the data for the file D:\$MFT

You've got a "hardware" problem with the disk-drive. Windows cannot write an updated 'MFT' ("Master File Table") to reflect files that you have added/deleted/updated on the Maxtor.

Copy all the files from the Maxtor, e.g., onto another external drive, or "burning" to DVD disks, and then replace the Maxtor disk-drive.

I have Seagate FreeAgent Desk 1 TB. I am getting this popup Windows Delayed Write Failed. Windows was unable to save all the data for the file. The has been lost.

Either the disk-drive is "full", or the disk-drive has become defective.

If the former, then delete some files.

If the latter, buy another external drive, and copy all the files from the "old" drive to the "new" drive, before the drive COMPLETELY "fails".

If the warranty for the Seagate still is active, then exercise the warranty to get a free replacement.
