Re: Pink picture

Pink may be a register value being changed in the TV's computer. The laptop method is usually the only way to change that. Make sure that you use a goos surge supressor with cable connectors. If the picture is really a Red blob (It could be Blue or Green though.) in the center, it may need a light engine. That is an expensive repair by a qualified tech.

Pink screen

A discolored screen, such as pink in your case, implies either:

1.) The motherboard and/or video processor of the TV has malfunctioned.

2.) Your input device is rendering the pink screen, such as a video game console for example.

If you determine that your input is not the reason for the pink screen then you need to contact Samsung for a warranty replacement.

Samsung offers a 1 year / 12 month standard warranty, and some of higher model TV's have a 3yr / 36 month warranty.

You can find out your warranty information by going to

Also if you have purchased the TV in the last 30 days you can purchase a Squaretrade warranty which will refund the price of the television if they can not fix it.

I hope this helps!  Thank you for using FixYa!

Pink color on projection TV

Okay, I'll give you the easy fix and the permanent fix here. Easy fix - accomplish what those guys do, without the laptop: Turn off the set. Hold down the Menu/Exit button while you turn it on. Release the button a couple seconds after the set comes on. That brings you into the service menu. Hit menu on the remote for more options. Scroll down to Memory Init. Check the box next to that to clear the pink. Then hit exit on the remote to exit the service menu. I'm still looking up some specifics on the permanent fix - I'll get back to you.

The problem is that the tv is set to 480I or 480P. Try changing the setting to 720P or 1080I and the pink color should dissapear.

There is some voltages that need adjusted in your tv and possibly the z sustain board needs replaced if the voltage adjustment doesn't fix it.

Pink screen

When the "pink screen" happens on my Polaroid FLM-1911 TV, I unplug the power cord from the back of the unit, wait 30 seconds, and replug it. This fixes the problem.

Your CCFL lamp has reached "end-of-life". They go pink when they are old. You can get replacement lamps here: They can also help you with the job, better consult them before ordering anything. Good luck
