I have an Audix D6 that was hastily disassembled, the wires on the microphone capsule were Ripped off How can I repair?

Not to be rude...send it back to Audix to fix or replace. They are somewhat of a liberal company, and usually fix things or replace for free. Just talk to a rep. Now, I am not saying lie to them about it being disassembled.

Have a beta 57a it wont work ? nothing

I'm assuming that you have tried the obvious stuff like using a different cable and a different amplifier?
The Shure beta 57a is a very robust and reliable dynamic microphone and there is very little to go wrong with it apart from
  1. A wire broken off inside
  2. A broken capsule - can be caused by dropping it
You can inspect for broken wires by very gently unscrewing the microphone head and peering inside - however the wiring is quite short so be careful not to pull any wires off in the process.
A broken capsule can be replaced - contact your local dealer for parts.

Try another xlr cable.

If you are using it for vocals/singing, the moistness from your breathe can get on the capsule and cause noise.

It is a microphone that needs phantom power to operate, so check your phantom power supply, whether it's from the mixer/console, or external source.

Hello,

Have you checked if the option for the Microphone is selected? Go to the Sound settings and then click Option/s. Make sure Microphone or Mic is selected.

Thanks!

I found this happens with a bad capsule.

On the end of the wire you have the microphone capsule. If I remember correctly, the capsule can be unscrewed from the microphone amplifier case assembly. This part can be ordered from a supplier for Sony professional parts.

I have also had the wire go defective, and need replacement. With most of these models, the complete capsule assembly has to be replaced along with the new wire.

If you are not used to servicing this type of microphone, Sony has service reps that can service and test the microphone for you.
