Question about Nintendo Professor Layton & the Curious Village Games for DS

# Plz help theres hints. What's the answer to puzzle 42. The camera and case. There's a camera and case set selling for £310. The merchant tells you that the camera costs £300 more than the case itself and that the case costs the price of the set minus the cost of the camera, you decide to buy just the case withought the camera. You hand the merchant £100. How much change should you get back? Hints:- 1. The camera and case cost a total of £310 but DIFFER IN PRICE BY £300. 2. assume the case costs (x), then the camera cost (x) plus £300. This means that the camera itself must cost £300. 3. It may seem like the answer is £300 for the camera and £10 for the case, but if you do the maths, you'll see that the difference in price is only £290.

This continues to be the most commonly asked about Curious Village puzzle on FixYa (with a quick search revealing several pages of answers)

As the hints state, all but one square is tilted and each pin can only be used once

The hints also give you the location of three squares and tell you the size and angle of another two squares

As an extra hint, none of the three small tilted squares mentioned in the hints overlap each other (knowing this gives you the location of one more square and just two possible locations for another)

From here, the rest should be easy (with eight pins to form two squares)

Make sure to use all the pins (all squares must have a pin in each corner)

### Puzzle 42 and Puzzle 44

A picture of the solution to 044 can be seen here
http://professorlaytonwalkthrough.blogspot.com/2008/02/puzzle044.html

The camera puzzle requires working out the cost of the case

As the camera costs \$300 more than the case and the total cost is \$310, there's not many combinations to consider

The solution to 042 can be found here

### Answer to puzzle 100 on prof leyton and the curious village

The hints give you the location of 3 squares and tell you the size and angle of another 2 squares

As an extra hint, none of the three small squares mentioned in the hints overlap one another (which greatly limits where they can be)

From here, the rest of the puzzle should be fairly simple (basically 8 pins to form 2 squares)

Remember that each pin can only be used once and that each square must have a pin in the corner
