Terrible vibration on washer

We just bought an LG Washer frontloader with Steam function. We also bought the pedestals. It is as level as one can get it, and although we havent placed the brackets on from the pedestal to the washer, i dont think that would be the problem. It has a terrible vibration to it, and it almost shakes down the whole house. Ok, thats an exaggeration, but it shakes so much that you cant even focus on the screen, and you can feel it on the floor, and it even shakes the dryer beside it.

Before you ask, yes, all the packing bolts are out. All 4 of them, and there is no packing underneath. Having the same problems as everyone else with the washer on a pedestal. Excessive vibration, walking across floor, and beating itself into the side of the dryer. There's got to be some way to stabilize the top of the machine. I've considered straps connected to the wall behind it and perhaps wrapping around the machine or bolted into the back. The floor is not the problem. It's just perched up there too high on a pedestal for such high rpm's. I'm determined, though, to invent a way to anchor it as I have no problem with the machine otherwise.
Any ideas not yet been tried?

I have reduced the extract vibration issue by securing the washer to the dryer. This increases the effective base dimension. This is not a complete solution, but it does help to reduce the vibration.

Are LG washer/dryer pedestals a bad idea? We have an LG washer and dryer in our garage on concrete and have no issues with vibration. We recently purchased the pedestals for these and have been warned...

On a concrete floor these pedestals have a greater success than any other flooring. Nevertheless, more shaking will occur. One solution that has worked is installing "shake away" rubber pads with the pedestals. Not sure if there's an appliance parts store near you that carries this product. But like I said earlier, the fact that they are on a concrete floor helps.

Kenmore Whasher shakes on spin cycle

unfortunetly this is common , these new frontloads spin fast even with no pedestal these things move...
make sure the locking nuts for the legs on the pedestal are screwed securely up to frame on pedestal, also could be a floor issue depending on where it is, slooping or not solid floor.

My LG WM2233HW vibrates and crawls forward during the spin cycle, it is not on a pedestal, does anyone nkow if the pedestal will stop this?

Not sure what pedestal you refer to ,but vibration and movement is often caused by machine not being level / not stable initially . With machine off ,hold the top firmly and see if you can rock it in any direction , if you can , put some packing under the base to stop this , then operate machine , it should be better.

Vibration

Does it have runner pads on the leveling feet on the washer resting on the pedestal?
If so, and it still moves all over, you will have to fasten the washer to the pedestal with bolts and nuts. I had a GE that did the same thing. I finally laid them on their side, drilled out the holes to fit bolts and washers I bought from Home Depot. They really don't make that clear, do they?

LG washer vibration

My wife and I originally had the same problem, and it didn't help that the washroom was a slick tile floor. First add as much weight as possible to your pedestal. We have ours full of detergents, bleach, fabric softener, etc., and have several of each so that the pedestal is completely full. When mounted on the pedestal, the washer is quite top-heavy, and the added weight in the bottom helped immensely. Second, make sure your washer is level, both the feet resting on the pedestal and the feet of the pedestal itself, and tighten the secondary rings so the feet don't vibrate out of place. Last, I purchased some thin rubber padding (approximately the thickness of leather) from Home Depot in the carpet aisle. Cut some small squares and place one under each foot of the pedestal. This gives the feet some additional "grabbing power" on slick floors.

Terrible vibration on washer

Remove the shipping bolts from the back of the washer. Please see the instruction manual for more information, but there is severe vibration if you don't remove them. It seems a lot of people overlook this step.

Vibration during spin cycle

Unless your front loader is set firmly on concrete and leveled to perfection, the force of a heavy wash load spinning in excess of 1000rpm will create a bit of vibration and noise.A firm footing is your best defense against to much movement.
Also due to the earlier movements during the spin cycle, the shocks that are used to dampen the spin cycle might have been broken or damaged.
If the problem persists inspite of proper levelling, please do check for the shocks or might have them replaced them for good.

New LG WM2688H*M Steam Washer

Your load is unbalanced, at least that is what is sounds like. Have you taken out all the shipping bolts?

These washers and dryers hold very little clothing, 3-4 pair of jeans or less if the person is really large and maybe three regular sized thick bath towels since they weight so much when wet. You must make sure you are not overloading your machines when in use.

Good luck and if you keep having problems I would take a look at the manual and call customer service to report this issue to them. Make sure you get a repair number for your records.
