Question about Goldstar MV-1501 Microwave Oven
About a year after I purchased it, started turning off intermittently. I could jiggle the handle or push gently on the front door and it would start again. This gradually got worse and worse until it stopped working all together. I have checked the plug which works fine when you plug other things into it. Does anyone have any idea what's wrong with it or who you call to fix a microwave? Thanks!
There is a internal locking mechanisim that has 2 or more switches that is usually attached with two or more screws next to the door latch side. Crack open the micro and adjust this by shutting the door then pushing this assy toward the latches untill all the switches look like they are being pushed in fully. If this doesn't solve the problem one of the switches or possibly more are defective. Call a local appliance repair center and get a switch there called micro switches.

Sounds like an intermittent door switch or a loose door switch mount. Very common.
