Maybe it'll be better to perform these general throuble shooting steps:
General Trouble Shooting Practices for Printers and Cleaning Instructions:

  1. Isolate the issue: Are you getting power to the device, is it a feeding/paper issue or is it related to the software. To test this unhook the computer and reset the device. Try and print a configuration page using the printer menus.
  2. Other wise, diagnose the software: If no hardware issues appear after disconnecting the printer. Uninstall the printer before hooking it back up, remove any software associated with the printer, and then plug the printer into a different USB port on the PC. Reinstall the software using downloads from the vendor website instead of the CD whenever possible.
Cleaning the Printer:

Clean the glassy edge of the toner cartridge on laser printers while manually turning the gear to the side, on ink printers clean the base of the carriage and the copper contacts on the cartridge. Blow out around the access panels with compressed air and look to see if the rollers are getting really dirty or feel slick. If they do use a product like Rubber renew to make them tacky again or use a reconditioning kit to replace them.
  • When dealing with large bundled gear assemblies that are not close proximity to the paper I also like to spray a little WD-40 on the assembly, it reduces plastic dust from the gears and makes the printer run quieter.
I hope this helps. If not, please post your feedback here so I can help. Have a nice day.

Unpluge the printer from the wall, take the ink cartridge out and roll the roller with your hand and look for small bits of paper. I am sure you will find a small one there.

Once done, put back the ink and restart the printer and let me know the status.

Thanks

    If issue
still persist and you see no paper that is stuck in the printer
it's likely your printer is experiencing another hardware issue the paper sensor seems not working.
I still want you to check for bit of paper with a flash light as there was a paper jam that happen.
    Follow this link..
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum...

I suggest contacting the printer repair guy and replace the paper sensor, that will fix the issue.

    Thanks

As soon as I started using recycled ink cartridges, I started getting a paper jam error on my printer. The control panel message instructs me to remove the back panel and clear paper jam. I've done this several times but there is no paper to clear and the message keeps coming back. I've tried turning of the printer and unplugging it to clear the memory, but that doesn't help. Could it be that the chip on the ink cartridge is messing with the printer's operating system?

Lexmark X6570 printer - Cleared paper jam. No paper scraps visible anywhere in printer. Continue to get error message to clear paper jam and then press the "check" button. Does not reset. ...

Ok, the paper jam could be due to one of the following:
  • Check for paper in the paper tray
  • Check the size of the paper in the paper tray to see if it is the same as what the printer is set for.
  • Defective D-roller
  • Debris in the paper path
  • Gears not turning or broken gear
  • Defective paper tray
  • Broken input sensor flag
  • Defective input sensor board
  • Defective system cable 2
  • Defective system board
  • Exit Sensor flag (Fuser)
  • Exit Sensor board (Fuser)
  • System cable 1
First try a hard reset - unplug printer from power source, wait a minute and replug. If it still does not work, uninstall the driver, reboot PC and reinstall (or download latest version from lexmark.com.

If there is no bit of paper or debris stuck in the rollers, it would indicate something more serious, and in need of servicing. If your machine is under warranty, I suggest you take it back to the shop and get it replaced.

If your warranty has run out, then you'll either have to get it serviced or buy a new printer (whichever works out cheaper for you)

Hope that helps!
