Find the starter loctation. On top of the transmission. There should be a decent sized red wire and a smaller black wire i beleive. Anyway the smaller wire gets power from the ignition switch. Take a test light and while someone its turning the key to start it the test light should light up when touching the smaller wire on the starter. If you are not getting power to that wire it could be a broken wire or your ignition switch. If you are getting power then try tapping on the starter with a screwdriver or hammer. Lightly not to hard. It might start but either way you will need a new starter. Hope this helped

I have a 95 Maxima that will not start or turn over. I have a brand new battery. I have tried starting the car in "P" and "N" position, still nothing happen. I have replaced the ignition switch still the car will not start or turn over. I have checked the power at the "S" terminal on the starter solenoid and read about 9.5 Volt. I even took the starter to the local auto part and it was tested good. I have checked all of the relays. They seem in good condition function correctly. Any help appreciated.
I have a 1993 Nissan Maxima and recently I have had trouble starting it. I have replaced the starter and still have the same problem. It eventually starts so it is not the battery. I try turning it over for about 5 10 second bursts and it then starts. Wondering if it could be a fuel pump problem?
