Question about Jl Audio 1000/1 Car Audio Amplifier

Subs fading out briefly but speakers working fine

2 x 1000/1(2 x 12W7) and 1 x 300/4 (4 x C5 650) Usually happens in the morning when the overnight temp was at -3deg C. Voltage is taken with DMM at 14.3 while vehicle idle. listening to system at roughly 30% nominal as its morning and don't need the crazy bass. for about 10 min the system plays fine and the subs are working great, then all of a sudden the subs start to fade back to almost nothing but the speakers driven by the 300/4 are still operating fine. After a few minutes the base is back on fine. sometimes this will happen 2 - 3 time on the 40min drive to work. I pulled over and when the subs faded out only the Green LED is lit on the 1000/1. the amber/red/blue are all out.

Holy mackerel you have a ton of power i bet that ****** is loudddddd-sounds like your charging system isnt quite keeping up with the amount of current draw that your amps can pull.Upgrade your alternator and look into a dual battery system using an isolator-that way your alt will charge both batteries but your amps will only pull off the one battery-you can look online into how to set that up its not that hard for someone that has managed to install the gear that you already have- Some folks if not most would encourage you to get some sort of capacitor to store power blahblahblah-BUT a dual battery system has waaaaayyyy more storage capacity than a capacitor does-check out the pro competitors online they arent using capacitors to run their stuff they use banks and banks of batteries to get their power-brother you need more juice

I conected my sub wrong and the unit shut down , I reconected my sub and everything seems to work fine , should I send it in for servicing?

If i'm right, the system powers down as a safety precaution. It prevented itself that it will breakdown. It's your choice but I recon you can just enjoy and listen to your favourite music.

How do I get the radio to stop playing outside the trailer?

There should be a series of buttons marked A. B and C. A is for the living room, B is usually for the bedroom and C is outside. If it is a carstereo type system you will need to go into the setup mode where you will find the balance and fade. Balance left and right to see if it turns off the outside. If is does not then fade front or back and see if it turns it off.

The sound from my speaker fades in and out, but the handset works fine.

Since this problem just started, I would first check to make sure there is nothing stuck inside the mic's port. Also, if you have a fan on in the room, that can also cause your speaker to fade in volume.

I say both of these because if the phone thinks you're saying something, your speaker will fade in volume. Whether you're talking or it's just air noise, the volume will fade.

At high volume sound shuts off, subs still work

You most likely have a shorted or damaged speaker, which is causing the internal amp chip to shut down (but does not affect the preamp outputs). A test you can do is to fade to one speaker at a time and turn it up to se if it shuts down. Repeat with each speaker until you find the one that causes the fault. Then replace it.
