Turn on/off the ''red keys'' on my Toshiba Satellite 350L laptop?

Hi,
my wife and I accidentally turn on the RED KEYS of our Toshiba Satellite 350L laptop. To turn them off we either close the programme we're running such as email or restart the computer. How do we turn them on and off properly?

Thanks.

Hey guys i had the same problem with my toshiba laptop where i couldn't get it to stop inputting the red keys. i fooled around with my keys a little and found out if you press ctrl+shift either once or twice, it will revert back to the normal keys. At least it worked for me, best of luck to you guys.

Nope, not locked.Just damaged keys. The liquid must've leaked into the keys and is either preventing contact or shot the electronics.

Keyboard keys wont type. used on screen keyboard to type this. any suggestions?

You might have "sticky keys" so try this:
When sticky keys are enabled, users can access functions that require pressing multiple modifier keys such as "Ctrl," "Alt" and "Shift" at once by pressing one button at a time. If sticky keys are enabled, it is possible to accidentally turn them on at an unwanted time. After turning off the sticky keys, disable the feature to prevent them from accidentally turning on again.

    • Press the "Shift" button five times in a row to turn off sticky keys.

    • Open the "Start" menu and then click "Control Panel."

    • Click "Ease of Access Center" from within the Control Panel window.

    • Click "Make The Keyboard Easier To Use" from within the Ease of Access Center window.

    • Remove the check-mark beside "Turn On Sticky Keys" to prevent sticky keys from being accidentally turned on.

    • Click "Apply" to save your changes and then click "OK" to close the window.
Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Check keyboards tab in device manager: control panel>hardware and sound>device manager; and check the driver is installed correctly. i.e. has no red or yellow icons showing. Right click and choose update driver.

Most of the keys work but when i hit "p" it comes up /p; and "h" comes up 6h

Do you have a (FN) key "also known as the Function Key" on your keyboard?

Many times you will have Numbers and Letters on the same keys.

If you have accidentally hit the FN key to turn it on you will be typing number/symbols instead of letters.
