Question about Gateway MX6030 Notebook
I replaced the motherboard in my dead Gateway mx6030 MA2 laptop.
I was shocked that it booted up as I never worked on a laptop before.
However, the sound does not work. Can someone identify what I missed
Check if the mute button has not been ticked.
Check the audio output is functioning by connecting a headphone to the headphone socket and playing an audio CD.
To check if the audio driver has been installed go to Start - Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager. If you see a yellow ? against Other Devices - Audio then the Audio driver is not installed.
If the audio still doesn't work get back to me with any error messages.

Make sure the audio cable is plugged into the MB properly.
