How do you use PICK UP OPTION

I have 2 M7310 phones in my office. If someone calls the phone on the other side of the office I would like to pick it up on the phone on my desk. How do I set this up?

    "You have to ensure that the tow of you are in the same pickup group for this feature to work."

    How do i go about adding the two phones to a pickup group?

  • christoph84 Apr 17, 2009

    Initially I try to hit "Feature 2 6 6 3 44" but it will not allow me to go passed "Feature 2" and the LCD says "Can't Ring Again"..

    I realize that "Feature 2" is the Ring Again Feature. Is there any way arround this?

    By the way, thanks for the quick response!

    You have to ensure that the tow of you are in the same pickup group for this feature to work.

    If you are in the same pickup group, it a matter of pressing FEATURE 75 and the call that is ringing at the set will be answered at your desk.

Firstly, you have to know the extensions that you want in this Pick-up Group.
Eg: 227,234,+239 all want to be in the same pick up group.

To get into programming press:
-> FEATURE 2 6 6 3 4 4
-> Password: 2 6 6 3 4 4
Now you will have to look at your LCD for 3 arrows
<- Heading....Enter->
<- Back .......Next->

-> you will now see TERMINALS&SETS and press Enter (the top right arrow key) now put in the extn that you want to change (Eg. 227).
-> you should now see the extension number 227: NAME, press Enter (the top right arrow key) again
-> you will now see Line access press NEXT
-> you will now see CAPABILITIES and Enter
-> now keep hitting NEXT till you see PICKUP GROUP:__ and CHANGE this to say 7
-> hit NEXT to save this change, then the HEADING button twice till you see the beginning of this menu eg 227: NAME

-> press Find and type in Ex.234 and follow same steps above to put this person in pickup group 7
-> and once again for Ex.239

After all the sets are now in the same pickup group 7, if anyone's set is ringing, dialing FEATURE 7 5 will answer the calls ringing in the group.
Once pressing the F75, whatever call was ringing the longest will be answered first... for your knowledge.

    sorry just thought of another way that might be easier....

    There is a feature call Answer DN in programming, it can be in place of one of your buttons on the set to tell you who's line you are going to answer.

    To get into programming press:
    -> FEATURE 2 6 6 3 4 4
    -> Password: 2 6 6 3 4 4
    Now you will have to look at your LCD for 3 arrows
    <- Heading....Enter->
    <- Back .......Next->

    -> you will now see TERMINALS&SETS and press Enter (the top right arrow key) now put in the extn that you want to change. eg227
    -> you should now see the extension number 227: NAME, press Enter (the top right arrow key) again
    -> you will now see Line access press Enter
    -> keep hitting NEXT till you see ANSWER DNs and ENTER

    -> type in the extension that you want to ring at your desk

    -> press CHANGE till you see APPR&RING

    -> hit NEXT once to save programming

    Now hit the HEADING to get back till you wee 227:NAME

    -> now press FIND and type in the other extension and do the same thing to thier phone.

    -> hit Next to save the programming and then RLS to back out

    Now you have to press FEATURE 0 on your phone and press the buttons one at a time till you find the extension that you now created on your set... as well as the same for the other sets that you created Answer DNs for.

    for more default passwords you can try:

    7 2 7 5 8 7

    or

    2 3 6 4 3

    Sounds like the people that programmed your system changed the sysem password. Maybe these might get you in depending on your software.

    Hey I just gave you the direction, your the one that did the programming... it's a team effort!

    I enjoy helping others in situations, where I can... and it saves you some money and I get to use my expertise and refresh my knowledge on these systems again.

    I actually work on VoIP systems and miss these Key Norstar system.

    Since you went with the Call Pickup, you can program a button instead of dialing Feature 7 5 everytime.

    -> Dial FEATURE * 3

    -> Press the button that you want to change in to the Call Pickup

    -> Dial Feature 7 5...

    Now that button is changed to Call Pickup.

    Now when you hear their phones ring, you can simply press the Button that you programmed and presto, you have answered the line.

Sounds like extension has put the phone on transfer. You can try these steps on the Extension 241 phone and see if it will correct the issue. 1. Press the Feature button, then * 2
2. Push the button you want to program
3. Display will read "Intercom #:__"
4. Enter the extension number

I hooked up a phone in the office on an extended line from another area and all of the memory buttons automatically worked, but the phone doesn't ring even after using feature *6 selecting a ring, and...

The easiest thing to do is use Direct Pickup Feature.
When the phone is ringing dial Feature 76
Dial internal number of a phone that is ringing (also refered as extension number)
You just answered a ringing phone at your desk.

If you have login information for Feature **config, I can help you set up your phone to be ringing as well.

Cheers

Call Park Issues..

Well to place a call on Park:
-> you should answer the call -or- be on a call
-> press FEATURE 7 4
-> then look at the display as it will give you a park number
Anyone can pick up a phone now, then dial that park number which you've seen - to answer the call.

To Transfer:
-> you should answer the call -or- be on a call
-> press FEATURE 7 0
-> then dial the extension you want to transfer to...
Now you can either stay on the line to tell the person who you are transferring and then hang up the phone -or- just hang up after dialling the extension to complete the transfer.

Programming a phone to pick up calls

I need more information. When calls come in, does the triangles appear on the phones you want to pick up? Do you have all the lines on the phones? Is sounds like you want only the "ringing sound" to happen on your phone, but have it appear on the others. Is this correct??
