Question about Fujitsu fi-5750C Flatbed Scanner

Open Question

Yellow highlighter on page is blacked out on scan image

When I highlight on ANY color setting or adjustment, the highlighter on a printed page is showing on scanned image. If using black and white it should not appear at all but it is showing as a blacked out smudge on the image, blacking out what is highlighted on a page.
It didn't used to do this, but now it is. Could this be from some type of update to the driver? It doesn't matter what scanning program I use, it does it.
This is a pain in the rear and is a work scanner. I have to send documents with highlight marks on them to another cheap scanner in another office to get it done right.

SOURCE: Green layer on scanned image from ADF Simplex

What model of scanner are you using? Is it white light based or RGB LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes). Very rarely it may happen that the Red and Blue LEDs are not glowing may be because of loose contact, but this very rare occurence. Try reloading driver software.

printing the PQ troubleshooting pages.

the pages it produces are individual colors, black, magenta, yellow and cyan and a white page and a config sheet. If the defect is on all pages then it might be a bad transfer belt. If it is only on one of the color pages, that will tell you which cartridge is bad.

Printer problems

This will sound stupid, but if you are trying to print a document in B&W with this particular model, you have to force it to print ONLY using the black ink cartridge, if you are out of color ink, otherwise, it will try to use the color cartridge by default. A highlighted word is not recognized as a black image with a colored background, it is recognized as a multi-colored image, s-o-o-o try going into your solutions menu, click on "Change settings" then click on "Printer settings" Then click on "Maintenance" tab, click on the "Ink Cartridge settings" button. From the drop-down menu, select "Black Only". Click on okay. THEN when you go to print the document go to your printer settings and click on the "grayscale printing" checkbox. Then Select "Plain paper" Of course, you have to do this each time you want to print. The MP470 is primarily a photo printer, with text and graphics abilities. It wasn't designed as an all-purpose printer... I found that out the hard way! :-) Unfortunately, this only works (so far as I've seen) if you are out of color ink... it tries to use color by default to 'create' black... I hope this helps out!

HP Color Laserjet 3500 Problem

If you are sure the diagnostics show the colours correctly, one thing I would look at is to see if it had a colour profile set up for it.Don't know whether this printer normally has, if it has not I would suggest reinstalling the driver. To check - Start/Printers & Faxes/ Rt click on printer then properties, look under Colour management tab. Pete
