Question about HP Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Hi, Pavilion zd7000 has colored vertical lines across the whole screen.....When I connect to a second screen, the second screen works fine. Does that indicate that it is the LCD screen that is bad? If it's the screen, where can I get a replacement at a good price? Thanks for your help

Your answer narrows the actions I should take. I'll try the cable first.

    Thanks a million.

It could actually be a number of problems. Seeing as it doesn't do it when you connect to another monitor, that eliminates a couple of parts. It could either be the LCD or the LCD cable. The LCD cable, would be the cheaper to fix, although you can find the screen itself on Ebay for anywhere from $50-$100, depending on size, finish, etc. If you read the full description of the sale and contact the seller with questions about the condition of the LCD, then that would be your best bet.

Also, if the computer is still in warranty, you should be able to simply call HP and send it in to be fixed.

If this tv vertical colors lines problems happen by itself,tv problems not causes by u or an object by hitting forces to the tv LCD screen panel itself. The tv board that call the T-CON board it is dead, this board sit in the bottom in the middle of the LCD screen panel.Must be replaced the T-CON board to solve tv vertical colored vertical lines.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole new refurbish T-CON board for the replacement. If causing by u or an object by hitting forces it to the LCD screen panel itself. The tv not worth a whole tv anymore, because by replacing the tv LCD screen panel will cost the same as a new tv.

Vertical lines in my laptop screen

Hi, that sounds like the integerated video graphics is going bad and it's not actually the screen. the zd7000's were known for video graphics failure. there was a lawsuit filed against hp for the zd models about a year ago to get a free motherboard replacement because of the video issue but it's too late to send it in now for the free repair. the zd models don't have a replacable video card in them like most laptops which the only way to fix the problem ould be to purchase another motherboard, you could try ebay but they're not that cheap. Vertical color lines

I had the same thing happen to me this morning. I turned on the TV and it had colored vertical lines through the whole screen. I called Sony and they had me unplug the TV for about 15 minutes. This solved the problem. They said the boards just needed to be reset. It fixed the problem and I am happy with my Sony once again.

The screen goes blank at start up

If you can not see anything, then it may be your inverter (Replacement part cost is around $50.00), if you can see a dark image then your CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) is out. (Replacement part cost is around $15.00)

HP Pavilion 7000 vertical lines on the screen. Unable to install the NVidia Driver

What is the exact model for your laptop? If you go to HP website using the laptop, you can have them "autodetect" what drivers you are actually supposed to be using. Find the display driver associated with your specific laptop and use that. Look for the link to "Software and Downloads" and click on it. There will be a black button in the middle for "Autodetect". Download that latest driver.
