Question about Refrigerators
HI, since the unit still has power, this will rule out any capacitor issues and failed evap/condenser assembly as well. The most likely issue here is that the compressor has failed.
There are many components that will cause this failure and, here is a run down.
Starter device component
Compressor relay & overload component
If this fridge is a bit up in its age, i would recommend purchasing a new thermostat and, i would also recommend purchasing a complete compressor replacement kit. this kit has every component and part you will need to restore the cooling abilities of your fridge. it will fix this issue.
The compressor kit will cost $262.00 and the thermostat will cost $55.95.
