For better or worse I installed Win7 on my Acer Veriton 3700GX. Recently, some of my USB devices stopped working, returning a message "Wireless Device Not Recognized". This occurs regardless of whether plugged into the front/back USB ports. This does not affect some USB devices such as USB Wireless Keyboard & Mouse. Any idea why this might be happening all of a sudden?
Could be outdated drivers.?

First, please disconnect all USB devices and then
perform the following steps:

(without quotation marks) in the "Search" bar and press "Enter".
Click "Continue" if necessary.
In Device Manager, double click to expand
"Universal Serial Bus controllers", right click on the Host
Controller, click "Uninstall" and click "OK".
Repeat the step 2 to uninstall all items under
"Universal Serial Bus controllers".
Then, restart your computer
and Windows 7 will reinstall all USB controllers automatically.

Check ports are operating correctly, go to Control panel>performance & maintanace>admin tools>services. Look dow list for 'plug and play', make sure this is set at automatic, the furthur down list 'Universal plug & Play' and ensure this is set at Manual. if all is ok then it may be a usb power issue if you ave lots of hungry usb peripherals, try disconnecting some and try your problem periheral in a different usb port.

So maybe you need to install the drivers for the USB device you are trying to connect. Also, with the computer off, try cleaning all USB ports and plugs. You can buy electrical cleaner in a spray can at Radio Shack. Let it dry thoroughly before powering up. But to me it sounds like a driver problem. Unless maybe your USB BUS is going bad.

When you reloaded the OS did you reload all the drivers? Sometimes if you do not reinstall the Intel driver the USB port will not be recognized. Happened on the last two DELL's I reloaded. Go to DELL's website and download all the drivers for your model.
Dell support website http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/
Look up your model by service tag, it is the alphanumeric code on the barcode label on the back of your DELL and also sometimes found on either the front or top of your DELL (sometimes it is hidden beneath the USB port cover that you flip up.
Try that and see if it fixes it. Also make sure that the connector did not come loose when you opened the case.

try updating the drivers to the card to see what happens. another solution is try it on another computer. if the same problem exists on another computer you could have a bad card.
