Question about GE 21028GE3 Cordless Phone

Phone card I need to be able to make the phone call to the calling card company (which is no problem), --and then be able to send in the long id # that they request. I can't figure out how to store that id# in a way that I can use it after I've used the auto-dial to call the phone company.

Re: Phone card

We just have the calling card's 800 number as memory 01 and the id# as memory 02. When the calling card company asks for the id#, you just push Memory, then "0", then "2".

My phone number shows up as "Unknown" or "Blocked" and I don't know why. How do I change it to show my phone number when calling people?

you probably do not subscribe to have caller id, call your service company or telephone company. In larger systems a T-1 with a D Channel is needed to send clid

If your phone service provides the Return Call option you can pick up the phone and dial *69, you will be connected to your phone company's Return Call Service. This will show the last call received. Otherwise you can contact your phone company for more answers on your question.

I have activated the caller id block for my outgoing calls. How do I reverse this process so that my number shows up to the people that I call?

The procedure depends on your phone company, not on your phone. With some phone companies, for example, dialing *82 before dialing the phone number will deactivate caller ID blocking for this call.
Please contact your phone company for full instructions.

No caller ID. TP company says I have service.

  • Did you fully charge your phone? - Make sure you fully charge for 16-24 hours .

  • Is the battery old? - Replace the battery.

  • Is the electrical outlet switch turned on? - If you are using AC (electrical) power, make sure that the unit is connected to a non-switched electrical outlet.

  • Are the connecting wires tight - Unplug the AC power converter from the unit and plug it back in.

  • Do you have Caller ID service with your telephone company - In order to receive Caller ID records, you must subscribe to the standard name and number Caller ID service available through your local telephone company. If the Caller ID works for normal calls but not on Call waiting calls, then you must contact your phone company to get the combined CID/CW service.

  • Caller ID shows up after second ring - Be sure to wait until the second ring before answering. Caller ID signals comes through after the first ring, if caller pick ups phone too soon Caller ID signal will not be transmitted to the handset.

  • Confirm that caller ID is still working on that particular line by checking another phone on the same line - If Caller ID is not coming through contact your phone company provider.

If this does not fix your problem, contact your authorized Service Center.*

I have call waiting and caller ID through my phone company. I have two Uniden phones--EXA17980 and EX15160 cordless phones. Both phones should display the caller ID while I am on the phone with another...

You're right, at least one of them should. You should contact your telephone company and ensure you have Caller ID while on Call Waiting service (CIDCW) - it's not always the same as just Caller ID. Sometimes they'll want even more money. :)

Can't find caller id function on NEC ETW-16DC-1 BUSINESS PHONES SYSTEM

You have to make sure the phone system you have has CID cards in it. What kind of card is in the Electra phone system.

Caller ID

First off seven to nine you do not use an external cid unit for norstar systems. Make sure you have a caller id card in the main ksu or key service unit( the phone cabinet) It should say CI on it. If the card says DS then you do not have a caller id card on the system and will need to exchange it for one. Then the system phones will have to be programmed for cid.
