C7280 printer wont recognize newly inserted ink cartridge! HELP
After getting a message that the cyan ink cartridge needed to be replaced, I did just that. However, now every time I try to print I get an error message saying that the cyan ink needs to be replaced! It also allows me to select "print in black only" both on the LED of the printer and on the printer screen on my computer but says that after selecting that option a few more times I won't be able to print at all. I have tried cleaning the heads, I have tried turning the printer off and on....dont know what else to do. Moreover, this ink is so expensive, I do not want to have to buy a new cartridge. It was a brand new HP ink cartridge that I bought recently from Staples. Can you please offer a suggestion as to what I should do???? THANKS

Epson has gone to great pains to ensure that third-party cartridges dont work. They really did a good job. Sometimes their printers wont even recognize genuine Epson cartridges. I saw a CX8400 with a brand new cartridge claim it was out of cyan ink after printing one 4 x 6 photo. Then it would recognize any cyan cartridge. It had to go back to Epson for replacement.

Are you sure its exclamation mark?.. This warning message related to print head. (warn out). When you are replacing ink tube assembly use dummy print heads to do the priming (new ink tubes are empty & they have to fill with ink).. Action: Remove all cartridges and print heads, switch on the printer follow the screen message.(Insert cartridges first next dummy print heads).once its recognizes cartridges then it switch over to print heads, insert dummy print heads. Once printer recognized the dummy print heads, printer will perform priming, during priming dummy print heads will filled with respective inks.(follow the display message)Remove dummy print heads & insert normal print heads. Wait till printer recognizes print heads, load the paper & wait till performs the calibration, once calibration is successfully done issue closed. If calibration not successfully done, check align print out for which print head is not printed properly, replace it.. Pl ensure that minimum 50% ink levels required in cartridges before performing the priming. Best of luck..

hello sir, hi, the ink comes out from the ink cartridge to the ink cradle where the ink pass to the paper, this is clogged, need you to clean the ink cradle, you can use warm water to soften the dried ink.
I had the same problem. My mp630 is also only 4 months old. I replaced all colour ink cartrdiges(inc black), but was only able to release the function for detecting the ink levels for magenta and cyan. Yellow and black then started giving error message U043, with them alternating between working, but never working at the same time. Getting them all clicked in with the lights glowing red does not solve the problem, as once the printer cover is closed, the same error message turns up. The only thing that worked for me is moving the chip slightly out of alignment, by pushing the sliding chip holder, and I only had to do this twice before they all started working and the printer was unlocked.
I too was getting the error for unrecognized ink cartridge. Then the
little green circ board fell out of the end of the ink cartridge and it
hit me that maybe if I put in the little green circ board from the old
ink cartridge of the same color, then maybe the ink cartridge would be
recognized. It worked! So don't throw out an ink cartridge that still
has ink just because of that error and hold onto your empty cartridges
in case you need the little green/gold circ boards.
