Avast is one of the worst anti virus solutions you can use....easyly affected by virusses and it corrupts the search, restore and wep page settings so you cannot brows or see it.....take it off....the method in doings so is...before uninstall...right click on blue icon on bottum of screen and click on stop all processes...click yes on popup, then uninstall. If normal install is run then the virus scanner remove the search assistant and thus corrupt the pages......use something else.... Download a scanning tool that will remove this...got symantec.com and look for the virus info and tool. there is alot of free anti virusses....AVG is one JJ

Is the file wmipruse.exe a virus or something that can be used to disrupt my laptop?

To avoid stopping all the services when a provider fails, providers are loaded into a separate host process named Wmiprvse.exe. Multiple instances of Wmiprvse.exe can run at the same time under different accounts: LocalSystem, NetworkService or LocalService. The WMI core WinMgmt.exe is loaded into the shared Local Service host named Svchost.exe.
Note: wmiprvsw.exe is the Sasser worm!
Note: The wmiprvse.exe file is located in the folder C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem. In other cases, wmiprvse.exe is a virus, spyware, trojan or worm!

My PC is showing updater.exe problem while everytime it boots

A process named update.exe appears to be part of several different programs. So many malware named itself update.exe.

***Any malware can be named anything - so you should check where the files of the running processes are located on your disk. If a "non-Microsoft" .exe file is located in the C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System32 folder, then there is a high risk for a virus, spyware, trojan or worm infection! Check it out!

I think you should run Anti malware software to scan your system.......

I got my CD RW infected by Win 32/ Auto Run Agent.YD worm. How can I clean and get back my documents free of virus?

First of all its good to have a Anti virus program like Avg or Avast go here to download them (choose one)

AVG free 2011
http://free.avg.com/au-en/download-avg-anti-virus-free (click avg free edition)

or

Avast 5
http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download (click free antivirus)

Now to scan your computer to get rid of virus's, spyware etc download these programs and make sure you run a scan once every two - three weeks

Malwarebytes - make sure you update this program everytime you use it and use the quick scan feature for a faster scan

SuperAntispyware - This program is good for the hard to find virus's and spyware, use this if Malwarebytes didn't work or vice versa

Spywareblaster search & destroy - This program runs in the background that blocks access from programs or users from the internet that seems bad and use can use the scan feature to make sure no one has got passed.

Hello!

It seems you've been infected, almost anything can be solved by using Maleware Byte's anti malware program,Link here http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Its important to not do anything that the so called "Security Tool" tells you to do,i.e send personal information or buy a program that claims to fix the problem, most of these viruses try to sell you an anti-virus/malware program !

Hope this helps!

HP - Compaq 6310P Laptop that Is giving an Isass.exe system error

As you may know, lsass is; Local Security Authentication Server. ANY OF THESE THINGS CAN RESULT IN AN UNUSABLE SYSTEM! So don't try them if you aren't able to re-install your operating system without trashing it (Over top should work), if there's any information not backed up that you can't lose, or aren't prepared for the worst, because that's what usually happens, right? :^D TAKE IT TO SOMEONE IF ANY OF THESE THINGS APPLY TO YOU.

Although you shouldn't have any problems with these simple remedies, I don't want to be responsible if it does!

The trojan you found and removed has corrupted some registry settings.

If you have a known good configuration, you can "go back". OR you can try running a registry cleaner on it.

You can also try going into "Services" and killing it, which should bring up your Welcome screen and reboot. All of your usernames and passwords may be gone though! And you'll have to start over.

GL!

its simple guys..!!!
if it asks for permission to access outlook..don't permit it because it is a smart virus and is going to spread it to all the people on your contact list...!!!
simply open task manager and end process tree of KHATRA.exe , gHost.exe , xplorer.exe and OUTLOOK.exe seperately...!!
then run your anti virus or download one if you don't have one..!!!
run a complete computer scan in detail..!!
then delete all files which are infected by the virus because the results contain only duplicate files which are created by the virus
