The heat pump is a retagular box inside of the unit. Remove the upper housing, locate the box (about the middle of the machine), remove the six screws on the bottom and clean with a hard brisseled brush. Note: in most cases the lines inside should also be cleared. Put the machine back together and run 3 FULL tanks of HOT water through the machine. (To avoid future problems when you are done using the machine take it out onto a step and run a full tank of hot water through the machine to clear the heater and the lines.)

How does water heater function on bissell pro heat 1548 carpet cleaner work

It adds heat to the fresh water as it is pumped out on the floor. It will NOT heat cold water enough to clean the carpet. You have to put hot water in the clean water container.

Not spraying water and solution

Tanks may be empty or not properly seated.
-Fill up the bladder with hot water and the solution tank with proper cleaning liquid.
-Remove and reseat both tanks

Pump may dry, needed to prime.
-Turn "off" power wait for about minute turn "on" power and depress spray trigger.

Check and clean filter on the deck (under the clean water tank, a red slotted plastic screw)

If nothing works you have to open the deck cover and go into details: check the pump, its a 12V DC motor, the solenoid, its a valve which operates with 120V, the hoses for broken or pinched part, the diode bridge (creates about 12V DC for the pump if the vacuum motor is turned "on" and the secret fuse (3,15A under the heat-shrink series to the diode bridge, if this one goes, no power to the pump!)

What kind of Vacuum has a water heater in it?
That is a new one-- unless we are talking about a steam cleaning machine?

Tell us more about the machine, and if you can see where the Heater is?-- and the power to it, etc., etc.

Hi.

No the switch for the pump will work without main vacuum switched on.
Your problem could either be faulty pump switch or faulty pump,
You should be able to get spares relatively easy from any independant vacuum repair shop.
Dont try currys etc they wont have a clue what your talking about.

Cleaner does not dispense

Check to make sure that the back end of the top housing is tight against the bottom, Sometimes they break loose. Make sure that the gasket at the bottom of the tank is on and is in place. Does the hand spray work? If it does then the heat inside the handle is plugged up. Pump belt broke or is slipping, could have a bad pump. The cap for the flow indictor is leaking air. There are alot off reasons why it may not be spraying.
