I am sorry to say this but the problem you are describing is usually caused by a board failure. Given the age of the motherboard it is likely that it is finished.

However, before giving up, make sure that battery on the motherboard is good, all of the hardware is seated and plugged in tight. You could also try another power supply.

Asus p5nd motherboard won't start when power button is pushed, but the motherboard light stays on..

Most probably your power supply. An SLI rig will draw a lot of power for the graphics and for a power supply in a system like this to have lasted 5 years is amazing. They don't last forever. You could buy a PSU tester (about 10 GBP) and confirm it. But if you have to buy a new one look for one that is at least 25percent more powerful than your old one and has at least a bronze efficiency rating. (silver would be better) and buy one from a known brand such as Antec, Chillmaster, or OCZ.

Power button not turning computer on

this is most likely a short in a computer component, You need to unplug everything from the computer incl CPU, Memory, Add on Cards, Hdds, the lot, just have motherboard plugged in and push power, if it powers up (there won't be a pic but you will know it's working) start replacing parts one by one until it won't start and that is the faulty part. If it does nothing with just motherboard plugged in the motherboard is at fault and needs to be replaced, If you have had the motherboard out make sure no of the metal mounts in the case are shorting out anywhere under the motherboard as this will also cause the same fault.

Won't start-If I take the positive battery terminal loose and the bike stays running does it mean the charging system is working?

Yes but not recommended, as it may spike the regulator and cause it to stop charging.
Better to check battery voltage with a multi meter.
around 12v engine stopped , and will rise when engine is started and revved to 13 or14v

System won't boot

Your motherboard has a chassis intrusion detector. This just means that someone opened your computer case. Since you did this to change drives all you need to do is reset the detector and you'll be fine. You should have a setting in bios to reset the detector. Hope this helps.
