How do I take out the agitator?

How do I remove the agitator since a belt is stuck underneath.? There is a shoelace twisted underneath the agitator of my GE S3700G2WW washer. I need to remove the agitator to get it out but I can't see the bolt because there is a plastic cover over it. How do I remove the plastic cap and then the agitator?

Nevermind. The whole agitator on the S3700G2WW simply pulls off. No need to unscrew it at all. Silly me.

Sock stuck under agitator

Good Afternoon Haley - Based on the model number posted above, it shows that you are speaking about a front load washer. Is that correct? If so, then generally speaking front load washers do not have an agitator. If a sock is caught underneath it is typically because it got caught in between the door and drum because the seal is either damaged or off the track. If you have a top load washer, you may try to twist the agitator and then pull it out to remove it, as you would for maintenance cleaning.

Agitator keeps rising up and washing getting stuck/twisted underneath

The nut that holds the agatator on has come loose and is properly floating around in the agitator.Or it just needs to be pushed down to lock it in place. At worst the bolt and nut has rusted away. (repair man)

Agitator is not working during wash and rinse cycles, and there is a slipping noise from underneath machine

You need to pull the agitator up and see if it's inner teeth have been worn smooth or something broken where it engages the steel shaft from the transmission. If everything looks okay then I am afraid it could be a bad transmission.

Shoelace got stuck in top of dryer, we'ved triped breakers and it won't turn on. What's wrong? Help!

IF you have removed the entire shoelace and it is now free and clear to turn by hand and is really easy to turn it may have burned a belt. IF it is belt driven which most are? Contact your repair guy and ask if your brand make and model is belt driven? IF it is chances are that is the problem.

Can't get the fabric softner cap off

Don't feel foolish as im sure your not the only one this has happened to. to remove the agitator cap you must lift it off, apply slight twisting to it while your doing this. soap can gum it up so you may have to use a straight screwdriver to assist you. once you have done this, there should be EITHER a set screw for an allen key on the SIDE of the agitator OR a 3/8 hex screw in the center or the agitator. there is a spring under this screw so remove both and the agitator should lift staight up. use an old belt underneath the base of the agitator for better results. i hope this has answered your question.

How do I take out the agitator?

I believe for that model, to remove the agitator you must reach inside with both hands and firmly grasp the lower part of the agitator and pull straight up. It may be a little difficult but should come off. Make sure you get it all the way back down when putting it back on. Hope this helps.

Power brush SEB234/236

Hi Clyde,
Before you start, unplug the vacuum from the wall socket.
First remove all the shoe laces from the beater brush. Then make sure the belt in installed correctly. If this doesn't correct the problem, open the unit and find any fuses that it may have and replace any that are blown. That sould correct your problem. It sure seems that vacuums get hungry for more than dirt at times. lol Good Luck
