Like you, I went directly to Jabra for a resolution. They are sending a replacement at no cost.

It's been about two weeks and still haven't received the replacement.

I have got the same problem. I have contacted Jabra and waiting for reply. I charged the bluetooth and it doesn't turn on any more.

Same problem here. I have constant flashing red ligth, but the unit still won't charge. I have been charging it now for over 12 h, and it still flashes.

  • Anonymous Dec 25, 2007

Yep, got a BT500 for each kid, and NEITHER of them will charge. When you plug it in, the red light flashes briefly, then it changes to a green flash for a second, and then the light goes out for good. Both have been charging now for over 7 hours, so I suspect I got 2 bad ones (what are the odds without there being some sort of class problem?). I confirmed the charger works by plugging my working BT500 into the charger, and the light comes on normally. Will call retailer tomorrow for RMA.

As a side note, the wife and I both have these same units, and we love them; hence the reason for getting them for the kids.

On charging the unit for over 12 hrs, all I see is a red blinking light and when I try to switch on the unit while it is plugged in it does not work.

I just tried three units off my company's supply shelf and ALL THREE will not take a charge. They are brand new and have been sitting there for 6 months. FREAKING JUNK!!!

  • sugarmonkey Aug 12, 2008

I also am experiencing this problem. I've contact Jabra. I'll let you know how it goes. It had a 1 year warranty, which I'm sure is expired by now, but we'll see if they decide to do anything about resolving this situation.

Spending more than one hundred dollars for a headset each year seems a little counter intuitive.

  • alaaedin Apr 08, 2009

I've gotten many of these and when they work they're great but it looks like a common thing with these. I just got 7 of them and 5 just having the flashing red light which by now I know that means they're bad.

I have the same problem. it's due to a faulty pover-cell inside the headset. i have also read that the charger can be inserted the wrong way, this would in turn kill the battery by giving it a reverse charge.(not sure about that) as i tried this after finding the unit defective and it will only plug in one way.. the only suggestion that i can give is contact Jabra directly. iv'e read that they will replace any headset in this range for free, here is the address for their site. Hope this helps.

My usb cable will not charge my psp

Are you plugging the charging plug into the PSP?There are two plugs on the USB cable 1.the USB plug. 2.the charger plug itself. The USB cable looks like the other end that plugs into the computer only smaller. The charger plug looks like the ordinary AC adaptor.
Also note that You need the computer/device that the PSP is connected to,must be turned on,well this is true with mine anyway.
Also the USB does not charge the PSP as fast as the AC adaptor.

Brand new Garmin Nuvi 1490 T out of the box. How do I charge it? The only devices in box were a car charger (my commute is 5 minutes daily) and a USB connector? Should I just plug the USB into my computer?...

Garmin satnavs come with a charge out of the box.
In some cases your device may have lost a charge during shelf life. In this case you can charge these units in three ways:
  1. Place unit on computer with USB cable for approximately 8-12 hours
  2. Place unit on Garmin specified AC adaptor for approximately 4-6 hours
  3. Place unit on 12V vehicle adaptor for approximately 4-6 hours.
Some cars continue to supply power to the cigarette lighter socket when turned off and others don't. If yours doesn't you can charge it from your computer. There's no indicator to show that it's charging or when it's charged. However when you disconnect the satnav from the computer and turn it on there's a battery state indicator which shows if it's fully charged or not.

You can used the USB cable to charged the camera, But some of the M863 camera will not take charged usign the USB cable., I strongy suggest used the AC adaptor just make sure the AC adaptor is 5V ac adaptor it will only charged using the 5V adaptor., About the flashing green it indicates camera is charging just wait for the solid green light it means it fully charged

It may be defective. Even if its not charging well it should still light up if there's a charge connection. Return it if you can and buy a better one.

Omnitech 2.0 Bluetooth headset. No charge indication?

I have the same headset. Make sure that when you place it in the little charging cradle that the ends are snugly fitting together. It is a very flaky design in my opinion.

If all else fails, call OmniTech (800.351.0245) and see what they can do about it.

Some USB ports cannot supply enough power to charge the Fuze. I had the same problem. I worked around it by getting a wall charger from RadioShack.

Plantronics Bluetooth Headset P590

This is a "known issue" that I have raised to Plantronics. Whether they do anything about it, remains to be seen. The workaround I have discovered seems to work with both of my P590 headphones that stopped charging:

1. Plug in the USB charging cable to a laptop or computer that is powered on.
2. Connect the USB charging cable to the headphones
3. Connect the 3.5mm headphone cord cable to the headphone output on the laptop of computer (this is the long cable with the normal 3.5mm stereo plug at each end)
4. Plug the other end of the 3.5mm cable into the P590 input.

The headphones should start charging.
