On Thursday i purchased a Belkin G+mimo router.
I have set this up by following the instructions. It works fine but occasionally the local area network connection (LAN)to my first PC fails but the wireless link to my other pc works fine. Sorry i should say my first pc is hardwired to the LAN port with an ethernet cable. If I unplug the router from the mains and plug back in all is fine. This problem only happens ocasionally.I hope this is easier to understand thank you.

when this problem happens the LAN conection says limited or no conectivity. I carnt get into the basic setup for the router.I have no other problems with the pc.I have checked all conections everytime this fault happens and all are good.I also checked via control panel as you sugested and found the same infomation.
This is strange fitted this on 13/9/07 and it has been faulty three times and ok at all other times. Is it posible i have a faulty router?

These problems are difficult to diagnose at a distance, and even more difficult to fix when there's no punctuation or capitalization. Try to rewrite this in standard English, and tell us what you've tried so far.

I'll try this one more time.
The reason you're not getting any help is that we can't interpret what you're saying.
Periods, capitals and commas are essential to written communications. We're working for free, and could be of help if you'd put a little more work into your question.
See:"How To Ask Questions The Smart Way":

"More generally, if you write like a semi-literate boob you will very likely be ignored. So don't use instant-messaging shortcuts. Spelling "you" as "u" makes you look like an semi-literate boob to save two entire keystrokes. Worse: writing like a l33t script kiddie hax0r is the absolute kiss of death and guarantees you will receive nothing but stony silence (or, at best, a heaping helping of scorn and sarcasm) in return."

How do you know the ethernet connection failed? What is the indication? Are there any other problems with this PC?
Double-check that all your connections are tight, especially the ethernet cable at both ends.

Take a look in Control Panel/AdminTools./Event viewer/System and application.

See if there are any red marks at about the time this happens and let us know what they are.

With no other symptoms, my guess is you're right-the router or one port is faulty.
Since it's new, you should be able to take it back (I prefer Linksys) or get an RMA from Belkin.

    OK. Good luck.
I'd appreciate it if you'd change the rating on this exchange.

The lan ports do not work but the wireless works fine.

I think that the router is just fine.

The issue could be with the LAN card of your PC of perhaps a faulty cable. So, my advice is to check the cable and lan card of your PC. You may use a different/already working cable and a laptop for diagnosis. Note that status of LAN connection is indicated by the LEDs at the front of router and LAN connection of the PC. If the LED indicates connection, then it could be the configuration issue.

Hope this helps!
Let me know if i could be of any further assistance.

Unable to ping static IP from remote desktop when

Does PING works on the same location where Camera's are located?

Usually, RDP connections uses the same PC on LAN and that should work fine. Please check Camera's configuration; make sure they have valid IP address, SM, Default gateway and DNS servers. Make sure that PC with enabled RDP can PING computers on the LAN either by IP address or Computer name. Make sure they're part of the same WORK GROUP.

Hope this helps! Please provide additional information so I can further assist you.

Wireless Router suddenly stopped working.

Try resetting the Linksys back to the factory defaults and configure it again.
Power up the router and press the pinhole RESET button on the back of the router for 30 sec
Connect a LAN cable to the wireless router and open a browser and enter to router's configuration IP address and configure the wireless settings, remove the LAN cable when configuration is completed.
You need to configure then wireless card in the computer/laptop with the router's wireless settings.

D-link DIR 300 wereless connection workng, but LAN will not work

Sounds like you have a static IP address on your PC which is preventing you from connecting to the router. This normally happens when you change the router for the origional that was provided by the ISP. Easy to fix. Just set your IP address back to dyamic & you will contect over LAN just fine. If you want to reconfigure your static I.P then I would be glad to help but that is another question.

Just revert to dyanamic IP address & all will be well.

I own a HP DV9000 my wireless quit working

Check the Device Manager to see if the Wireless LAN device is working and enabled. If not reinstall the Wireless LAN driver.
If the Wireless LAN is OK and enabled then sometimes when you bootup the Wireless LAN card doesn't get an IP address from the wireless router. This usually has a red X on the wireless connection icon and sometime you get an error message "Limited or no connection".
To get the router to issue the wireless LAN card with a new IP address, righr click on the Wireless icon and click on Repair.
You can also power down the router wait 15secs and power up the router again then reboot the computer.
If it still doesn't work you could have a faulty wireless card, see it your friendly computer shop can test it for you.
