The sound is great, but the picture has gone to gray with horizontal white lines across the screen. It is 20 years old, and probably not worth fixing, but i will ask anyway, just in case it is a simple...

Hello Sat, hi, its a failure of the horizontal output transistor responsible for high voltage. This transistor is needed to be replaced. you need a TV tech guy to have this fixed. have it checked first, the trouble is common to CRT type TV really easy to fix. for a tech guy.

I have a 10 yr old Sony tv that is blurry

No, most likely scenario is that the cable company compressed the signal further so they can stuff more channels on the wire. The cable guy is caught in the middle of this. The poor guys will tell you anything to get you to turn your head, then they slip out the door. He can''t do anything and the company is looking at the big dollar. I don't think you will have much luck pushing back to them. I hope this helps.

Watching a football game picture is very unclear

The noise reduction option will cause a blur on fast movement. Also, you probably already know this, but a standard definition broadcast will look very blurry on an HD TV, so make sure the channel you're watching is actually an HD channel.

Oh, wow, I just noticed that this is from October. Oh well, maybe you're still having problems.

No sound picture is fine

This seems to be an occurring problem with this model.
It will need to get in for repair. My thoughts is either an issue with the main power supply not sending the appropriate voltage to the audio board or the audio board itself where the Amplifiers have gone bad. Probably going to be a $100 to 200 repair cost at a good TV Service Shop.
Blessings,
A/V Media Tech Guy.

52'' tv

He may not have explained himself well.

Anything can be replaced on any TV, he probably meant that it will not be worth repairing.
These guys are used to customers getting 500 dollar labor and parts invoices, and having customers freak out and just dump the TV, maybe he thought you were going to use him for a dump run?///
I dont know but maybe???

Call and get another estimate. There are many who will give free or 50.00 quotes, and tell you what it will take to fix.

Hope that helps,
Charles

Sony KP61HS10 61 in - out of focus when first turned on

He probably went into the Service Menu by Pressing Display,5,Vol+,Power buttons and adjusted the red convergence and that may have lasted alittle while, but the problem seem to be going blurry and then when warming up comes back ok. This indicates a Leaky Capacitor. My question would be is it only Red that is Blurry or is it all colors. It could also be a CRT problem. Could you take a picture of it when it's doing it?

Unclear Printing

Your print head is most probably blocked.
First try and run the cleaning program a few more times, it make penetrate deep enough to get through.
If that doesn't work you can either replace the print head or try and clean it.

To clean it you could soak it in a mixture of window cleaner and water (filtered best), but don't let the electronics get wet by this and try to avoid wetting the rubber seals where the ink tanks go get wet by this too, it should only soak the very bottom part of the head.
Let it dry off and wipe any residue with a soft cloth especially on the bottom where the print heads actually are. You may need to soak it a few times to get all the gunk out.

I called Sony, did what they said, and now my camera is working just fine...no more blurry pics. Go to menu, click arrow right, click arrow down 3x till you get to "Setup 1," click arrow right scroll down to "Initialize," click to right, select OK, press center button. This initialized everything back to default settings and now I don't have blurry pictures anymore.

Blurry picture

You probably have a focus problem. Possibly the focus control has opened. If so, then you would have to have the Flyback (High Voltage transformer) replaced. The control is integrated into the flyback. Depending on the labor chages and parts prices would determine if you want make that kind of investment. Other problem can also cause this effect such as a bad picture tube, open resistor, bad picture tube socket, etc.
