Question about Samson G-TRACK USB RECORDING MICROPHONE Microphone

2 Answers

GTrack producing NOISE and not catching audio from even 20cms.

I connected G Track for the first time and followed the instruction manual. When i use my audio software and record, the noise produced is say 3/10 amplitude and the voice which i speak (probably going about 1 cm away from mic), also produces amplitude of 3 - 4/10. Noise is also more. The atmosphere here is sound proof, no external noise. I am not able to sing comfortably. But need to put my mouth into the mic to even hear the voice thru the monitor speakers. but, still, a large amount of noice exists. :( Please help

Yes... Thank you. I checked it and its recording fine.

BUT I STILL SEE SOME AMOUNT OF NOISE IN THE RECORDING.

I am in a totally closed room with pin drop silence. :(
the HISS is coming however. I am also using a POP filter. still??

    Any hints?

This mic is noisy as hell! It produces a high-pitched squeal in monitor mode, not to mention tons of static. This, of course, makes recording anything impossible. How do i eliminate this noise?

I get horrible static at times. I have an imac and I've been using Garage Band. It seems like the static happens if my mic level is too high, and then if I undo that recording I can't geta clean sound unless I start all over. If I start all over (quit Garageband and start over) I can get a good sound -- sometimes VERY good. So my assessment is this is not a real reliable mic, it has quirks, but at the price and with the ease of use.... That's my experience so far. Sure makes practice and working out new tunes a lot more fun.

Did you check the record levels on the software you are using.

I have lost the manual that goes with my anderson nicholson cd recorder home stereo model # E6906. i can not get it to finalize. can y ou please tell me how to?

The manual for Model E-6906 on page 31
1. Press the FINALIZE button, in the STOP mode.

2. Press the PLAY button to start finalizing. The display will show busy, during finalizing, wait until busy dissapears to complete the finalizing.

When the operation has been finished the NO TOC indicator turns off and the time display returns to the track/time display.

The amp from time to time gives a tone to the speakers even when the rca audio cords are not hooked to the amp the protect light isnt on and all the wires work properly i hooked different amp to the...

You are on the right track. It's not the amp, but it is the rca wires. When you have them plugged into the stereo, you can touch them together and it will make the same sounds you described also, though I don't recommend doing that! Rca wires can be weird sometimes but usually I replace them with new ones. Even a brand new set of cheap ones will do the same thing sometimes. The noise you here is causes by either a small short in the wiring, running the rca's to close to the power wire for the amp (or any other power wire for that matter), and sometimes you can buy a grounding kit for them that is fairly cheap that will help. Most of the time for me, it was just the connections, but replacing them basically took me through all these steps at once. Just remember, you still have a chance that your head unit is the cause by the connections getting old and wore out on the inside. Hope this helps!

Nordic Track A2250 Pro stuck inclined

My Nordic Track Treadmill A2250 is stuck on the 12% incline position and it wont go back down and I have tried to reset it by turning it off, switching the reset button to off and then on or even unplugging it several times. What would be my next move?

Cannot record both mic and electric guitar in daw

Disagree with previous post. The GTrack is designed to record vocals and a mono insrtument at the same time. That's its main selling point. It should also allow monitoring of both the vocals and guitar alongside the playback from the computer. In your computer's Control Panel, go to sound preferences, select the usb microphone and click on advanced tab. It is likely yours is set up to record 1 channel at CD quality - this is how many ship for some reason. Set it to 2 Channels CD quality.
In Sonar, set your track input as USB Left for the vocals, and USB Right for your guitar.

Imac-samson-gtrack mic compatability

From the Samson Audio website...

"Ideal for the traveling musician or the project studio, the G-Track ships with a desktop mic stand, swivel stand mount, USB cable and all the cables needed to connect any musical instrument with a standard 1/4" or RCA output. The G-Track ships with Cakewalk's Sonar LE and works brilliantly with Apple's GarageBand."

If it states that it works with GarageBand, I would say that it would work on a mac.

Can't Plug In Guitar

Hi gtrackhelp

Just stick the mic in front of the guitar amp :) That easy really. Even though it is a cheap amp, you will still get results(probably better than you expect.. In the studio thats how all guitars are recorded. If you have any more questions, happy to answer. Cheers

STATIC!

Hi philltl89

If it has been doing this since new, there is probably something wrong with it. I would return it to the place you purchased it from and get it changed over.
