With the unit unplugged, take off the back cardboard panel. On the lt rear side you will find the compressor. On the lt side of the compressor you will see a white box mounted on the side, this is the relay, and it most likely will have a zip tie holding it on. Cut the zip tie or unhook the clip. Gently pry the relay from the side of the compressor. If it is badly burnt make sure there are 3 connectors on the compressor, sometimes they will burn one off or burn it so bad the compressor will need to be replaced $$$$ if not in warranty. If its not burnt thats hopefully what you will find, hold out your hand with the compressor side of the relay pointing down. Shake the relay like a salt shaker into your hand. If you get grey flakes/chunks in your hand the relay is bad and will need to be replaced. easy fix for about $45 - $50.

Go into the lower rear compartment and check if the compressors hot. if so unplug , get a soaking wet hand towel and place it on top of the compressor for an hour.
then try plugging back in.
check condensing coil by compressor and clean if needed.

Due to being less than 1 year old , you need to call a Whirlpool factory authorized service center for repairs . This repair will need to be done under warranty . You could try unplugging for a few minutes and then plug back in to reset the electronics .

Whirpool side by side refrigerator hot door gasket

Good day,
The first step is to clean the coils properly. Remove the back cover, and make sure the cooling fan is running. At this point, unplug the machine and with a wand and a push pull vaccuum blow the dirt out of the coils from back to front.

Yes , it's filthy and ugly, but the only proper way yo clean it.
Make sure the cover in the back is properly reinstalled. (See my tips). At the beginning, the divider will be fairly hot, but should slowly cool after enough running time to get the machine to it's normal temperature.

Whirlpool stopped blowing cool air. Unplugged

It sounds as if your defrost timer has failed. Unplugging the unit over night allowed the unit to defrost. If unplugging it overnight or by using a stnd fan blowing into the freezer section for 90 minutes results in the fan blowing cold air then your unit is not defrosting. Most often the defrost timer is the problem. However there could be other defrost circuit like the thermostat or the defrost element. In order to provide you with the correct solution and defrost timer location you should privde your model number for further instructions.

Clicking noise for a day then no cooling at all. Fan running, but doesn't sound like compressor kicks on.

You should replace the overload/relay , which is the piece pluged onto the side of the compressor . This piece has a plug , with 2 or 3 wires , pluged into it , and is easily replaceable . Since you gave no model number , I cannot give you a part number , so , be sure to take it with you ( model number ) , when getting the part , so you get the correct part .

Whirlpool Side by Side (33 inch across) Lights work, but neither side is cooling. No compressor running.

it's either in defrost mode and the timer is stuck, or the relay or fuse is shot on the main board. might also be the thermostat. find the timer (usually under the fridge near the front). there will be a dial on it- turn it to see if the compressor comes on. if it does not, check the main board (also underneath, but towards the back).
