T.I 84 Plus Calculator

When powered on, the LCD screen is dark blue. Will not accept or show any entries. Occasionally after calculator has been off for a period of days or weeks, will work properly for a few minutes. If left on, LCD screen turns dark blue. Successive power ups will yield the dark blue screen. Have tried replacing with known good/new batteries.

Dark blue screen, with a clear **** in the middle. I've tried adjusting the brightness and I can see the change in the dark ****, so its not the brightness. I've changed the batteries and left it alone for weeks. No change. Please help.

My batteries eroded in my calculator. I had lost it for a while and I just found it. I remembered it did state that the batteries needed to be replaced when I lost it like a year ago. So I cleaned the acid off the batteries case with a damp paper towel and replaced the four AAA batteries and it still doesn't work what should I do?

My ti-84 calculator show unreadable code only?

Honestly, I do not understand what you mean. This calculator is designed to run commands one after the other. You may stack a few of them only if you do not need the output of the first ones.
Anyway, the memory is limited and that includes the register where the current line is stored. If you enter too many characters, the calculator stops accepting them and the cursor will change shape.

If memory is full you can no longer do anything. One simple way to regain some working memory (RAM) is to clear entries (the commands you typed). Press [2nd] [+] to enter memory managem2nt and select the command ClearEntries. You can also select ClearAllLists, or Reset. For the last choice you can then choose to reset ALL RAM.

The Mode settings determine how entries are interpreted and how

My calculator ti-84 plus is having problems. When i turn it on it will turn off quickly by itself. and while its on i try to click on any botton and it doesnt show the number etc

It could be that the main batteries are drained and are no longer able to supply power to the calculator. Replace the AA batteries with a fresh set. After replacing the batteries the display may become too dark or too dim. To set the correct contrast
Press [2nd] key and release it.
Press and maintain pressure on UpArrow to increase contrast (darken screen), OR on DownArrow to decrease it (lighten screen). If you overshoot your intented contrast you can revert the processs.

TI-84 plus calculator - broken LCD screen -- user replaceable?

The lcd is connected to a PCB with a driver, you can unsolder the LCD pins from the driver board. I think you are able to unsolder the entire board+LCD from the main calculator board, but I haven't tried that.

Your best bet at finding a new LCD would be to buy broken calculators off of ebay.

I have a TI 84 plus silver edition. Won't turn

The problem may be due a screen that is too light to see anything on it. Adjust the screen darkness.
  1. Press [2nd] key and release it.
  2. Press and HOLD the [UpArrow] to draken screen.
  3. Release the [UpArrow] when screen is dark enough.
You can also connect it to the computer to see if TI Connect finds it. If it does, update the OS to version 2.53MP.

You change the backup battery if the calculator tells you RAM CLEARED each time you turn it ON.

On the TI overhead screen, there is a dial. This is how you adjust the contrast. It sound like the contrast on the overhead display is too dark.
