Sounds as if you need a Preventative Maint. Light print=(most commonly) the Developer is worn out, or Photo Conductor needs to be changed

Testimonial: "Developer was indeed bad and the service counter needed to be reset. Bought a service manual and it showed how to do both. Thanks"

How do I set it to draft

Go to the printer settings and have a look in there. The settings may be found on the printer itself if it has some kind of digital display, but more commonly it will be in your computer somewhere in Settings>Devices>Printer. Look for a setting like "print properties" and uncheck the "draft" setting to put it to normal printing. This may darken your printing. If it is not set to draft then set draft and see if it comes out lighter, and if it does then it may be an ink issue and you may need to clean the print head. This will be somewhere in the "Print Maintenance", again somewhere within the settings.
I hope that helps.

Pitney Bowes E700 doesn't print at all althougth the mechanism appears to be working fine. I've changed the cartridge and cleaned the print head and run maintenance several times but to no av

Addressing Original Question: Its essential that the PB E700 machine is linked to Pitney Bowes account to either a) add postage or, b) carry out an Inspection. within 90 days or machine will start flashing "Inspection Due" if this is ignored after a further 30 days the machine will start flashing "Inspection Required" and stop printing! Perhaps this is the solution required.
a) First Connect machine to telephone line as if you were going to top up with postage.
b) Press "Refill"
c) Press "0"
d) Press "Enter"
Machine should display your current balance with PB.
And the Inspection message will be cleared.
Hope that helps. I also misunderstood the "Inspection" message thinking it was referring to a maintenance requirement, when it is actually an antifraud/security requirement of the postal authorities to check location and usage of the machine.

Our copier were printing fine and then all of a sudden the copies started coming out very light. It isn't a toner issue because we replaced it with a new one and even tested it with another new one....

Hello,
It sounds like you need to do preventive maintenance ( cleaning of laser unit, copy optics, replace transfer and everything that is in HP PM KIT )

When the printed result does not improve even after these steps, replacement of ink cartridges may be required.
