Question about Saws
There is a red and a white wire connected side by side on the circuit board from the battery. Either one or both of them have broken off at the connection to the board. I suspect this may be due to poor design in that the wires vibrate at this point and eventually break. They have some glue there to support it, but it is poorly applied and doesn't do any good. You will have to remove it when soldering. I suggest tacking the new wire on to the old wire stub with some a generous amount of solder for strength.

The problem could be in several places.
There could be a loose wire.
The switch can be failing.
The brushes may have worn down.
If you take the back end off you can manually check the brushes. Inspect carefully for loose wires. Check the switch for continuity.
