Sansa c240 battery issue

I bought the Sansa c240 mp3 player about a month ago. I charged it and used it for about an hour before the battery shut down. I charged it again to full power and when I went to use it an hour later, it was already dead. Why won't it hold a charge?

Re: Sansa c240 battery issue

Does it indicate that it is fully charged? If it does, I would return it or have it replaced. You have a 1 year warranty from SanDisk. SanDisk Technical Support 1-866-726-3475 If not, try using a different USB port on the computer, preferably one in the back. Best of Luck.

Can I use my Sandisk Sansa C240 while it is charging?

This is normal when the Sansa is connected to a computer. You can use it while charging if you connect it to something else. For example, you might have a cell phone with a USB charger that plugs into a wall outlet. You could connect the Sansa to it, and it would let you listen while charging.

Not charging

Try connecting directly to USB port on your computer, NOT a hub. It needs power to charge.

My sansa c240 won't completely charge from the puter ~

Your battery most likely isn't good any more. They're not designed to sit around for very long periods unused. The cheapest way to remedy this is probably to either get one from ebay with a broken screen and salvage the battery from it (the back cover just slides right off and you can pop the battery out) or right now has c240's for 12.99 w/free shipping (they're refurb units) and you can use the battery in either player and you'll also have a backup player.

Sansa e250

i know i have to charge my sansa for at least 7-8 hours before the battery will show it is full. about your other problem, i believe there is an option under the settings menu to automatically shut your sansa off. If not then you can turn off the backlight and that will save alot of battery life.
