Question about Boston Acoustics BA735 Computer Speakers

1 Answer

My speaker set has been working fine until we had a storm that knocked out the power temporarily. Now the computer doesn't recognize that they are even plugged in. The power to the speakers is working and when I plug them in to the computer (or even just touch the plug in since humans conduct electricity too) I am getting loud feedback. How can I convice my Dell computer that I have a set of speakers?

Well your IC of your speaker must have been damaged by high voltage fluctuation. get your IC changed, it is very cheap compared to a new speaker.

The system was working great until I hit a pot hole now it says on the screen protect is there some kind or code I have to put in to get the head unit to work again

try pressing the reset switch. You may have shorted out a speaker temporarily. If that doesn't work, check all of your speakers and speaker wires for shorts or grounds.

I had the same problem..... turns out that there is a specific order that you need to plug them in. Disconnect your speakers from usb and from power. Then plug in the Power first. Then plug in the usb connection. They should show up in your sound control panel now.

Cannot recognize working microphone

I found the answer. Rosetta Stone has a problem detecting the mics if the speaker input is not in someway connected to the mic. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but I don't care and neither should you.

Follow these steps each time you want to use it and you should be fine.
*I'm on Vista, but this should work for every one.
1. Open Control Panel
2. Open Hardware and Sound
3.Open Sound
4.Set Line 1 as your Default Speaker
5. Refresh the Mic list
*All of your mics should now show up.
6. In Rosetta Stone, apply the mic you want and finish the setup.
7.Start whatever language you're using and switch back to the Sound menu.
8.Set whatever speaker you want to use as default.
*Rosetta Stone will continue to work fine until you close it, switch Users, or remove the mic.

In short you have to set the default speaker to LINE 1 to get the mics to appear. Then when you apply the settings switch the default speaker back.

Sound buzzes after lightning storm, replaced soundcard, no change

Have you tried the speakers on any other source?

Have you replaced any power surge or power strips that you may be plugged into, Or at least tried to plug into a different source.

You issue may just be an unclean source of power.
