There are 3 possible reasons why you are having this type of problem.

  1. The power source or outlet might be having a partial contact. try to plug your UPS into another wall outlet socket (Not an extension socket). observe the behavior. if it persists, try to change your UPS power cable (It might have short circuit somewere that is not allowing the UPS to charge properly) If this fails too, try the next step.
  2. The solid yellow light means 2 things. either you have a problem with your batery or your battery is dead and needs a complete replacement.
  3. Either way, get another battery and try it out. Before you change your battery, try using the UPS on another PC and observe the behavior. the fault might be from your PC. if you observe the same thing, then you may need to get another battery. Cheers!

Batteries are holding back the 21st century. I have the older model of this and my battery went bad very fast. Now I have to keep it plugged in and not just any usb port will work it has to be a usb power supply of at least 2 amps. I keep mine in a 2100mA usb source.

How can i bypass my forgot admin password on my compaq armada e500

With the older Compaq Armada E500 Notebook PC, I believe;

1) Remove the CMOS battery.

2) Leave it out for 30 minutes.

3) Press the Power On button, and hold it for a count of 10 seconds. Let go of the Power On button.

Press it again. If the Power On light comes on, hold the Power On button in, until the light goes out. Keep pressing, and holding the Power On button in, until the Power On LED light does Not come on anymore.

Reinstall the CMOS battery. WAIT 1 minute, turn the laptop on.

If this doesn't do it, there is a capacitor inside the laptop keeping residual power. There may be two copper pads that are briefly touched across, to dissipate this residual power.

Perform the removal of the CMOS battery first. If this doesn't work I'll try to find info on the copper pads. (They are usually under the Wireless Card, and a small piece of Mylar plastic sheet)

Post back in a Comment as to your findings.

I purchased a Belkin wireless travel mouse and have only used it a few times, now it doesn't want to work. The USB lights up when I plug it in to my laptop, but the mouse doesn't. Pls advise if I...

Have you checked your battery on the mouse? I would pressume that it uses battery since its wireless. Does it have a on/off switch? Because for it to work you need to turn it on. Can you post the exact model and specs of your wireless mouse? For us to better understand what were dealing with. Reply back. Good Day.

HP Pavillon dv62030ez No more start up. Fan and lights get power for a second, then nothing. Think thr BGA doesn't fit any more, due to overheating.

Hi

This may be a problem with the bios. Try to reset the bios. follow the below procedure

1. remove the main battery
2. remove any USB cables etc., if connected
3. hold the power button for 15 secs.
4. reconnect the power adapter (Do not install the battery yet)

Later if the system starts well then shut down the Laptop and install back the battery and connect the charger and start the Laptop again

If the above will not solve the problem then follow the next step

1. Remove the power adapter and the battery
2. Open the back side cover where the Memory is installed.
3. remove the BIOS battery
4. leave the laptop for a while may be 10 mins.
5. Now connect the BIOS battery back
6. System will automatically start do not press the power button
7. set the date and time
8. Shut down the Laptop
9. Start normally back on.

I bught a belkin ups system but i lost the manuel and i dont know how it work . And when i conect the belkin product it me a sound like a beep .

Trust me when I tell you this. That UPS you are looking at, should be replaced. It is too small for computers today, maybe good for your fax machine or answering machine. Computers are getting more powerful, so I recommed, if you loose your manuel, I suspect you are also ready to upgrade to a AVR line interactive 1000VA.

Power light blinking yellow after sitting a while

Unplug computer, disconnect all usb/monitor/internet, open it, hold power button until green led on the inside on the motherboard turns off, pop out the BIOS battery (looks like a big watch battery and use a small flathead screwdriver to depress the spring lock on one side), plug in computer, hold power button for about 20 seconds (must reset BIOS or something), let up on power button, wait 10 seconds and push power button. The computer should turn on. Wait for it until activity seems stable (1 min. or so). Push powerbutton to shut off.

If this has worked you have proven that it's not the power supply (it turned on).

Go buy a new battery (CR2032 3 volt). Unplug computer, open it, hold power button until green led on the inside on the motherboard turns off, pop in new battery, plug in (you should notice the power button blinking amber again), hold power button until it stops blinking (about 20 sec....again must reset BIOS or something), wait 10 sec., push power button. the computer should turn on. Wait for it until activity seems stabe (1 min. or so). Push powerbutton to shut off.

Now, close case, plug in all usb/monitor/internet/etc. Power up computer. You'll get an internal floppy drive error. Push F2 (maybe F1) to get into the BIOS settings and go to "drives" and turn off the internal floppy. Save and exit. The computer should boot properly now.

This seems to be a big problem with the e510, my theory is that this one small battery is the root of most of these failures (as these computers usually fail after 1-2 years), not the power supply or the motherboard (heck, when you replace the motherboard it comes with a new one of these batteries...a several hundred dollar piece of hardware, with a $5 battery that will actually fix it).

The AC output power id to low, like 96VAC ; its bad shoul be 115 VAC

Very bad!. Trash this and get a UPS with AVR technology and line interactive. 96V will burn up your power supply and this junk has no AVR technology that will help step it up. Also your load may cause a serious voltage drop, that means your UPS is way too small as it is. I suggest you think about going to a 1000VA or higher.

www.storminprotection.com. look on my web site, and check out the UPS's and I would be happy to sell it to you at my dealer cost to solve your problem.

Only my UPS goes down!

115V x 8 amps = 920VA x .778 power factor = 717.76 watts Start up 50 watts = 667.76 watts You need a 1000VA UPS. The one you have is way too small.

That 375 UPS is good for answering machines, plus it does not have AVR technology. Your UPS power supply is 250Watts, and the monitor is at least 150 watts and the printer is another 200 watts....=600watts

So that 375VA ups x.778= 291.75 watts. That hardware of yours is killing your very very very cheap UPS. It is obvious that Tech support has no application engineering support. Well I did all the work for them.

I suggest a 1000VA or a 1500VA for more time.

check out my web page, I only sell to dealers, but I will help you out.

Not working

Some UPS have "Battery backup" and "Surge only" outlets. I don't know if it is the case for your model. The "Surge only" outlets are not connected to the battery and will go off during a power outage. Make sure that the equipement that need to keep running during the outage are connected to the "Battery backup".

Important: Never connect a laser printer to the "Battery backup" outlets because to power draw is just too high.

Have you made sure that the battery is connected inside the UPS? (If the battery is user-replacable)

You may do a simple experiment. Connect you UPS you a wall outlet and plug a conventionnal lamp to a battery backup outlet. Then, unplug the UPS from the wall. If the light goes off, then you may have a problem with your UPS.
