The electronic pushbutton switches are fine. It is the plastic keytops that are broken and they will stick down and keep the shredder running. Thanks

The key switches under the keytops are fine. I need the plastic keytops as they are broken and slip under the top cover of the shredder.

Our Wilson Jones 2000 shredder is jammed. I put too many papers in it at once, didn't realize they were folded on the bottom. How do I clear the jam?

Try reversing it. If that fails, get access to the shredding mechanism (with power off) and pick the paper out piece by piece and bit by bit.

Shredder is Wilson Jones 130 auto. I believe staff shredded to many sheets at one time. No no lights no power forwards or backwards. Is there a reset or fuse, can't find one

Oddly, my Wilson Jones 130 auto just did exactly the same thing. I'm the only one that uses it (that I know of) and one day it worked, the next it didn't. There is no paper stuck in it. There are no power lights, nothing works. Does anyone know the location of a reset button or something?

The shredder was paper jammed

Hi,

Ensure the wastebasket is empty then move power switch to the REVERSE position. This will reverse the jammed paper out of the shredder. If shredder jams again, alternate control switch slowly between REVERSE and AUTO (l) positions to attempt to move jammed paper completely through the shredder. If the shredder jams in reverse mode, move the switch to AUTO (l), depress the manual forward button located on the center of the shredder head and allow to run for five seconds. If jam does not clear, move switch to REVERSE again and allow to run for five seconds.

Repeat this process until jam is cleared. If necessary, turn off shredder and use care to grasp the paper and carefully pull out to clear jam. Once cleared, move switch to AUTO (l) to continue shredding. The jamming may be happening because the cutting cylinder needs to be oiled.

Follow instructions to oil your shredder;

To keep your shredder in top condition, the cutting blades need to be oiled every so often (for frequency, please refer to your owner's manual). We recommend using Powershred® Lubricant or a vegetable-based oil (such as corn or canola) in a non-aerosol container with an extension nozzle.

Caution: Never use flammable synthetic oil, petroleum-based, or aerosol lubricants to oil the cutting blades. Some agents may combust, causing serious injury. NEVER USE WD40.

1. Depress and hold the reverse button down.
2. Put the tip of the oil bottle in the paper entry and make one or two sweeps the length of the entry while squeezing the oil bottle.
3. Move the power switch to Auto (I) position, or depress the manual forward button (depending on model of shredder) and allow the blades to run at least three seconds.
4. Move the power switch to Reverse (R) position and allow it to run for at least three seconds.
5. Repeat steps three and four above at least three time.

Regards.

Our Olympia paper shredder forward switch does not work but the reverse does.

Hello,

Move the power switch to AUTO (l) position and depress the manual forward button for five seconds to clear paper blockage. Make sure the paper is engaging sensor located in the center of the shredder opening.

Good luck..

Wilson Jones Shredder Automatic On/Off

When auto function does not work there are two things to do 1st. canned air is your friend try blowing out the photo sensor that makes the auto function start. It is located in the very center of the feed point upper and lower parts meaning two areas to clean. they usually are little round spots when paper dust gets on them they either continuously run or do not run. Now 2nd if cleaning does not help then you may have bad photo sensor. you will need hands on tech. respond if having trouble and leave feedback if this helps. Have a nice day!

Paper Jam in Wilson Jones 1500. Reverse doesn't clear it. Is the plastic cover where the paper is fed removable?

You should probably unplug it. Two screws in back and under. Slide front cover back an inch.Disconnect cable and clean unit with vacuum.

You can hand cycle it in both directions to loosen up the blades.

The shredder will run in reverse but will not run foreward.

Inside the shredder there is a motor which is wired to run both forward and backward, the way it does this is to transfer the power from the switch to a couple of wires on the motor
The forward running motor will be linked to the auto start button which will tell it to work with the paper sensor.
When you select the Forward function the Auto Start is taken out of circuit and the Forward switch should supply the motor

After all of that I would say that the switch is open circuit on the Forward contact and needs replacing
