I had the same problem and i replaced the defrost heater and it worked fine for about one month but now having the same issue. Most of the time from what I have heard it is the defrost heater (about $60 part). I might have another issue going on with mine like a defrost thermostat. Your defrost heater is right under the panel on the inside of the freezer section. remove white panel on back side of freezer section and remove two screws and two wires and replace it and you should be fine.

Our Refigerator is forming ice in the freezer. It

Probably has lost the defrost function and excess ice has formed clogging air flow and shutting down ice production. Remove the access panel and inspect the evaporaton department for signs of failed defrosting.

Ice melting and frost forming on freezer side, funny sound coming from freezer side. No condensation in back of fridge. Help for a new home owner.

check that your flapper on the ice shut through the freezer door is fully closed,
make sure there is no ice forming around your evaporator fan, thats the fan in the freezer, if that gets glogged with ice and is forced to stop, it could blow your entire machine control......
the frost in the freezer leads me to believe you may have a defrost issue

Freezer is too cold, ice crystals. Refriderator

I'm not sure which one you have, but try this: Look for the area where the air passes from the freezer to the refrigerator side, in the wall somewhere between them. Make sure that there isn't something blocking the passage. This is a good place to start.
