If hard drive encrypted / locked or bios locked then you will need to contact dell and give them your asset tag and they will be able to generate a backdoor password you can use to get back into the bios and then you can reset or disable the passwords / encryption.

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. You can refer to the purchase receipt to get the service tag of the Computer. if the computer is locked means windows is not booting then perform system recovery using the recovery discs to reinstall the Operating system, drivers, application, etc.
If the BIOS is locked then contact the Dell support team to get it unlocked.
I had the same problem...You will have to send it back to Dell. Or if you are the original owner you can call the and give them the information on the back of the computer and they will give you the number to unlock it. I have done this before,,Good Luck,,,,Darren
When you connect the VGA cable to the TV you will need to hit the FN button + F5 on your keyboard, that will change the dispalys from internal to external. if you hit FN+F5 again you can have both the laptop and the TV screen on.
