Question about Sony BRAVIA KDL-40V2500 40 in. LCD HDTV
Hello- This problem started a few months ago and has gotten considerably worse. Originally, at seemingly random times, the entire screen would get dimmer and a darkened, flickering bar would appear at the top of the screen - the image would still be visible across the whole tv, but in the darker flickering bar there would be serious ghosting and lag of the picture. Sometimes applying some pressure to the TV (as in rotating the base or pressing on the top of the tv) would cause the bar to disappear and the image to brighten to normal levels again. Often, though, it would return to normal on its own. Then a new symptom: about 1 out of 4 times I would turn it on, the entire TV would be full of vertical colored bars, though moving with the image: it's as if the TV were taking the color value of each pixel in the topmost row and extending it in each respective column to all the pixels below it. Most recently, in addition to the rest, the darkened bar returns but its properties extend randomly through the TV, which flickers and distorts randomly - images in the tv get displaced several inches to the right and flicker over each other, strange things. I should mention that ALL of this is an actual display problem - even the tv menu itself is affected (as in it is not an input problem). Any help as to what the problem could be (or even how to fix it?) would be greatly appreciated.

More than likely this is a bad display (lcd screen) the drivers in the lcd display are going out and unless its under warranty its very expensive to repair. Sorry :-(
